Cultivation Begins from Infancy - Chapter 293

Volume 3 - Chapter 38: How Dare You Show Such Disrespect? - Part 2

Ji Tianchao stood silently with his son, daughter-in-law, and other family members, watching the two aged figures gradually walk away. Their gazes were filled with sorrow.

Ji Yunqing gritted his teeth lightly and glanced at the distant horizon behind him. His eyes glimmered with hatred.

"Third Brother is about to pass, yet those people won't even come to see him one last time?!"

The Fourth Brother remained silent. He knew exactly whom the Sixth Brother was referring to. When their parents passed away years ago, the brotherhood among them had already crumbled.

Ji Tianchao’s body trembled faintly upon hearing Ji Yunqing’s words. He clenched his fists slightly but said nothing.

They stood quietly outside the small courtyard for a long time until a sorrowful wail from Ji Ximu inside reached their ears. Their bodies trembled, and tears rolled down uncontrollably.

They knew. Ji Yunge, the War God of the Ji Clan’s generation, had departed forever.

"Third Brother!!"

Ji Tianchao threw his head back and roared to the sky like a wounded beast mourning its loss.

The Fourth Brother and Ji Yunqing clenched their fists tightly, their shoulders shaking as they fought to restrain their emotions.

Meanwhile, Ji Yunge’s children, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren couldn’t hold back their grief any longer. Their sobbing filled the air.

At that moment, a figure sped toward them from a distance. It was Ji Qingmeng, Ji Yunqing’s daughter.

"Father," Ji Qingmeng called out as she landed swiftly. Her face changed slightly upon seeing the grief on everyone’s faces, and noticing Ji Yunge’s absence, she immediately realized what had happened.

Ji Yunqing didn’t respond for a long while. Only when Ji Qingmeng called out again did he suppress his emotions. He turned, his reddened eyes meeting hers. "What is it?"

"The young man defeated Ji Yufen at the mountain’s base. Currently, Ji Qingyuan and Aunt Yun Yue are confronting each other there. A message has also arrived from the Hall of Deliberation: the Clan Leader has approved allowing the boy to join the Ji Clan. However, his Sacred Bones must be tested to determine whether he will be considered part of the main lineage or a branch line."

Ji Qingmeng quickly composed herself and explained.

Upon hearing this, Ji Yunge’s children, daughters-in-law, and granddaughters nearby froze for a moment.

They all felt a deep gratitude toward the boy who had returned their father’s wandering soul to its resting place.

To think that he could defeat Ji Yufen—it proved that their father’s earlier words had not been exaggerated in the slightest.

"Ji Qingyuan!"

Ji Tianchao suddenly turned his head, his wolf-like gaze locking onto Ji Qingmeng. His grief-stricken yet fiercely restrained expression made her heart clench, even though his anger wasn’t directed at her.

"This was Third Brother’s final wish. I want to see what they intend to do!"

Ji Tianchao tightened his fists, took a sudden step forward, and vanished instantly.

Ji Yunqing and the others, worried that Ninth Brother might act impulsively, immediately followed with grim expressions.

...

At the mountainside, Ji Yun Yue and Ji Qingyuan were locked in a heated debate over clan rules and family laws. Their sharp words filled the air. Ji Qingyuan, however, remained silent, standing as still as a great mountain, his mere presence making it hard for those nearby to breathe.

Suddenly, there was a loud boom!

Ji Qingyuan’s eyes flickered as the ground in the center of the courtyard sank abruptly.

A figure shot down from the sky at incredible speed, landing forcefully.

Although his feet didn’t touch the ground, the stone tiles beneath him cracked and shattered.

"The War God Tianchao!"

Recognizing the figure, everyone present froze momentarily. Then their expressions shifted dramatically, and they hastily bowed.

This War God was of the Ji Clan’s main lineage—a figure both revered and admired.

"Ninth Uncle!"

Ji Qingfeng, who had been arguing moments ago, paled when he saw Ji Tianchao. His heart pounded uncontrollably.

Although his father’s generation often spoke of how their grandfather had doted on and favored this Ninth Uncle, which had instilled some resentment in him, facing the man in person made his heart race with trepidation.

The pressure was simply overwhelming!

"What a lively scene!"

Ji Tianchao’s icy gaze swept across the crowd, and his attention quickly landed on Li Hao inside the Welcoming Hall.

The moment their eyes met, Ji Tianchao knew this was the young man who had returned his Third Brother.

His gaze then shifted to the unconscious boy at Li Hao’s feet, recognizing him as one of the Ji Clan’s young prodigies.

Ji Tianchao’s eyes paused briefly on Ji Yun Yue, and he gave a slight nod to his Fourth Sister before focusing on Ji Qingyuan.

Ji Qingyuan returned the gaze calmly, but an undercurrent seemed to ripple between their eyes, unseen sparks flying.

Ji Tianchao’s eyes grew colder, but he didn’t erupt in anger immediately. He waited until the entire area fell silent before taking a deep breath and speaking in a voice that was frigid yet thunderous.

"My Ji Clan is an Ancient Holy Clan, where martial strength is revered!"

"This young man, regardless of his background, performed a great service by returning War God Yunge to our clan. His actions are a tremendous boon!"

"Who dares to behave so brazenly here?!"

The words reverberated through the crowd, causing those of lower cultivation realms to feel their blood and qi churn. Even their eardrums throbbed with pain.

Those hovering in the air to spectate felt their souls tremble. They quickly withdrew their spiritual senses and dared not continue observing.

Such was the imposing might of the Ji Clan’s War God. Tens of thousands of people in the streets and squares dared not utter a word.

Ji Qingfeng’s expression shifted, and he opened his mouth to speak, but Ji Tianchao’s piercing gaze silenced him. He dared not utter a sound.

He could argue with his Aunt Yun Yue, but standing before his Ninth Uncle left him utterly terrified.

"Was it you who acted so brazenly here?!"

Ji Tianchao turned his gaze to Ji Mingque and the other young prodigies.

Their faces paled instantly. Just as they were about to explain themselves, Ji Tianchao’s next words cut them off entirely.

"Bring your parents to see me!"

"You speak of family laws and clan rules. Then today, I shall rectify those clan rules! Fighting in the Welcoming Hall—has the Ji Clan’s etiquette fallen into chaos?!"

Ji Tianchao’s roar shook the heavens, leaving everyone trembling in fear.

This War God of the Ji Clan was nothing like Ji Qingyuan. He had long since established himself as a War God, fighting shoulder to shoulder with Yunge. His accumulated prestige was overwhelming.

Moreover, he was born with Sacred Bones, with the potential to ascend to sainthood. He could very well step into the Saint Realm at any moment!

Ji Qingyuan frowned slightly and said, “Tianchao, scolding our clan’s young prodigies over an outsider seems inappropriate, doesn’t it?”

Ji Tianchao’s eyes widened, and his entire being radiated fury, like a lion on the verge of roaring.

“You have an objection? Qingyuan, you are a War God! Instead of maintaining order here, you allow this chaos to unfold. What kind of example is this?!”

He chastised Ji Qingyuan publicly, showing no regard for decorum.

Ji Qingyuan’s expression darkened. Just as he was about to speak, Ji Tianchao’s wrathful voice interrupted him once more.

“What outsider? He carries the bloodline of the Ji Clan!”

“He returned War God Yunge to us, enabling his soul to rest in his homeland. Who among you has accomplished such a feat? Who could match his merit?!”

His words were suffused with anger, as if he were on the verge of an explosion.

These words caused everyone present to fall silent, their expressions shifting.

“Ji Tianchao, that is a separate matter. Of course, we are overjoyed by War God Yunge’s return...”

Ji Qingyuan began to respond but was once again interrupted. Ji Tianchao, his fury seemingly reaching its peak, roared:

“Overjoyed? My Third Brother hasn’t even been properly laid to rest, and you’re already making things difficult for the one who brought him back. Do you intend for him to leave this world full of regret?!”

Ji Tianchao’s rage grew with every word, and he pointed a finger directly at Ji Qingyuan.

“Years ago, my Third Brother fought demons, exterminated evildoers, and repelled the other Ancient Holy Clans on behalf of the Ji Clan. Who among you didn’t benefit from his efforts? Who hasn’t enjoyed the shade of the tree he nurtured?”

“By returning my Third Brother, this boy deserves your reverence. How dare you humiliate him so casually?!”

“This isn’t just an insult to him—it’s an insult to my Third Brother and an affront to the War God of the Ji Clan whom you claim to revere!!”
