With a loud bang, a figure was suddenly flung out, crashing through the doors of the Welcoming Hall and rolling onto the street outside.
Nearby, a young man stood with his hands behind his back, his expression darkening as he looked forward.
Outside the doorway, Ji Boduan’s face also changed. Ignoring the youth who had tumbled outside, he quickly stepped between the remaining people in the hall.
“Everyone, please calm down. This is the Welcoming Hall—no fighting is allowed.”
“Get out of my way!”
The young man standing with his hands behind his back spoke directly.
Ji Boduan’s expression darkened further, his face slightly strained.
The youth ignored him, keeping his gaze fixed on another young man sitting calmly ahead. Earlier, he had ordered a Pursuer of the Dao at his side to make a move, unwilling to dirty his own hands. Unexpectedly, the opponent's strength had been formidable, easily defeating the Pursuer of the Dao.
This youth was Ji Yufen, one of the Ji Clan’s Unparalleled Geniuses. Seeing that his age was close to Li Hao’s, he had thought to teach him a lesson, feeling that it wouldn’t count as bullying.
The Pursuer of the Dao who followed Ji Yufen was also a talent of the Ji Clan but fell short of the Unparalleled Genius standard. Choosing to follow a prodigy was a calculated move—when the genius rose to greater heights, these followers could reap benefits, even being elevated to the Ji Clan’s upper echelons.
“So, you have some skills. No wonder you’re so brazen. Do you think that alone is enough to secure a place in my Ji Clan?” Ji Yufen’s icy eyes glinted as he spoke.
He strode toward Li Hao, intending to personally deliver a lesson.
“Young Master Yufen, you can’t break the rules...” Ji Boduan hurried forward to stop him.
“Scram!”
Ji Yufen suddenly unleashed his aura. Despite his young age, the overwhelming presence of the Three Immortals Realm surged out, climbing rapidly to its peak, reaching the Undying Realm!
With a single shout, he forced Ji Boduan back. Then, with the gait of a dragon and the steps of a tiger, he advanced until he stood in front of Li Hao.
“Change your surname now, then leave the Ji Clan. There’s still time!”
He stood above Li Hao, looking down condescendingly at the seated youth.
The teacup in Li Hao’s hand, intended for serving guests, paused for a moment.
“And who are you?” Li Hao turned to look at him.
“You don’t need to know who I am. You’re not worthy of knowing!” Ji Yufen’s gaze was cold.
Li Hao’s eyes flickered faintly with a hint of frost. Without looking back at Ji Yufen, he tilted his head and downed the tea in his cup. Only then did he speak, his tone calm.
“I wasn’t asking to know who you are. I only wanted to say—what gives someone like you the right to question my surname?”
“Because this is the Ji Clan, and you’re just a mongrel unworthy of bearing the name Ji!” Ji Yufen spat, his voice laced with fury.
A glimmer of cold light flashed in Li Hao’s eyes as he glanced at the enraged youth. Then, with deliberate movements, he set the teacup down and slowly stood up.
Ji Yufen did not attack immediately, unwilling to stoop to ambushing.
As an Unparalleled Genius, he had his pride.
Yet, as he faced Li Hao, who now stood taller than him despite being younger, Ji Yufen’s expression soured.
“It seems the Ji Clan’s family teachings aren’t all that impressive,” Li Hao remarked softly.
Before Ji Yufen could explode in anger, a loud slap reverberated through the hall.
Ji Yufen’s head snapped to the side, his mind buzzing. Blood sprayed from his mouth as the Kunyu Sacred Body he cultivated was shattered by the force of Li Hao’s slap.
“Reluctantly, I’ll educate you on behalf of your parents,” Li Hao said icily.
Then, his gaze shifted toward the crowd outside the Welcoming Hall, sensing the many presences watching. His voice grew cold.
“Whose child is this? Must I kill him on the spot before anyone dares to claim the corpse?”
The crowd outside was stunned. Many had witnessed the scene through their Soul Power. Ji Yufen, a youth of comparable age to Li Hao and an Unparalleled Genius, had been slapped across the face!
“You...you!”
Ji Yufen finally recovered, his face full of disbelief. But soon, his blood boiled, rushing straight to his head as if he might explode from rage.
“You’re courting death!”
He roared, his aura surging violently. In an instant, his flesh swelled, emitting a cacophony of cracking sounds.
Behind him, an ancient phantom of a ferocious Roc appeared, radiating a savage and tyrannical aura.
But before he could launch an attack, a second slap rang out.
This time, his head was slammed directly into the stone floor at Li Hao’s feet, embedding itself deeply into the tiles!
The Roc phantom was shattered into nothingness by the slap’s force.
“What now? Must I kill you before you’ll give up?”
Li Hao retracted his hand, his cold gaze sweeping over the onlookers outside.
Those who had gathered to watch almost cried out in disbelief. A single youth had subdued Ji Yufen with just two slaps, leaving him unconscious!
Beside him, Ji Boduan stared in shock, his eyes wide with disbelief.
Although he knew Li Hao had escorted Ji Yunge back, given Ji Yunge’s strength, who had truly protected whom was debatable.
And yet, this youth—barely fifteen or sixteen years old—had easily defeated Ji Yufen, one of the youngest and most promising Unparalleled Geniuses of the Ji Clan!
“Such audacious words!”
High above the hall, several figures appeared, exuding immense and unrestrained auras.
They were dressed impeccably, radiating dignity and authority, their cold eyes fixed on Li Hao. These were Unparalleled Geniuses from various branches of the Ji Clan.
“This is the Ji Clan, and you dare harm someone so recklessly? Did you steal our clan's techniques from your mother? If so, don’t blame me for disregarding age and showing no mercy!”
One young man stepped forward, his presence surging. It was unmistakably the aura of the Fourth Pillar Realm.
The nearby crowd, drawn by the commotion, was filled with astonishment.
“That’s Ji Mingque, a powerhouse even among the Unparalleled Geniuses!”
“That outsider defeated Ji Yufen, though. He seems strong too!”
“If he wasn’t capable, the War God Yunge wouldn’t have praised him so highly, saying he’s destined to become one of our Ji Clan’s Unparalleled Geniuses. It looks like he does have the strength.”
“Even so, does he think our Ji Clan is like some backwater place he used to stay? Even a genius must bow and obey here!”
“I think treating him like this after he escorted War God Yunge back might not be the right way. Shouldn’t we show more respect?”
Many extended their Soul Power to observe from afar, whispering among themselves.
Li Hao’s brows furrowed slightly. He had not expected the Ji Clan to harbor such strong rejection toward outsiders. He had thought most would be as reasonable as Ji Yunge, but it seemed she was in the minority.
“War God Yunge called you an Unparalleled Genius, didn’t she? If that’s the case, and you wish to join our Ji Clan and stand alongside us, then prove you have the qualifications!”
The young man named Ji Mingque spoke coldly, standing aloft in the void as he gazed down at Li Hao. Compared to Ji Yufen, Ji Mingque was more mature. Without instructions from the higher-ups, he refrained from acting rashly out of personal dissatisfaction.
“To stand alongside you would be to insult me,” Li Hao replied calmly.
“You court death!”
Ji Mingque hesitated briefly, then his eyes flared with intense cold light. He had thought himself arrogant enough, but this youth was even more brazen!
“If you can withstand this strike of mine, I’ll acknowledge you!”
Ji Mingque made his move. A long spear appeared in his hand, and the surrounding space seemed to resonate with its presence.
Spear light coalesced, imbued with the true might of martial excellence. The terrifying spear aura gathered into a single point and, in an instant, it was hurled toward Li Hao.
