Chapter 298: The Forbidden Code
Added 2025-03-03 16:08:01 +0000 UTCThe Magical Alchemy Warship had no strict requirement that only a golden ring could operate it.
Whoever became the captain could control it effortlessly. Especially since this vessel was constructed by the Fars Empire, its basic concepts had been taught in imperial universities to prepare some students for potential naval assignments after graduation. This way, they could directly participate in military operations without additional training.
Universities on the Old Continent prioritized practical education. Graduates were expected to be workforce-ready, capable of immediately stepping into various roles. Useless subjects and skills were relegated to electives, leaving students to explore them as personal interests.
That Magical Alchemy Warship was docked in the harbor of Saint Michael Island. If Charlot could seize it before Herolf and his Golden Rams Fleet, there was a 70 to 80 percent chance that Sabastine could take control of it.
Sabastine was stunned by the idea. She couldn't fathom how Charlot's mind worked. While Herolf charged towards them with overwhelming force, Charlot's first thought wasn’t about how to fend him off but instead, “This is our chance! Let’s try stealing that Magical Alchemy Warship when he gets here.”
The audacity of the plan was undeniable, though its slim feasibility bordered on madness.
Charlot silently calculated distances and shouted at Sabastine, “We’re taking to the skies. Have the Wellington Steak dive immediately!”
Sabastine obeyed without hesitation. Grabbing Charlot, she launched skyward, diverting all of Herolf’s attention. The Blue Whale, realizing it couldn’t withstand a single casual strike from a Saint, swished its tail and dived into the sea.
Charlot calculated the optimal distance and then wrapped his arms around Sabastine. Activating the Infinite Mirror World, he stepped through the Mirror Spirit's portal and emerged from a mirror somewhere else on Saint Michael Island.
Without needing further instruction, Sabastine transformed into a streak of light and sped toward the harbor, heading straight for the docked Magical Alchemy Warship.
Charlot fully activated Swiftstep Technique ×10, moving as fast as lightning, racing towards the harbor. The lower levels of Saint Michael City were now almost deserted, and Charlot encountered no obstacles. When he arrived at the harbor and saw the warship anchored quietly, his heart surged with joy. Running across the water’s surface, he leaped onto the vessel.
Although Herolf had left a crew to guard the Magical Alchemy Warship, these pirates were no match for a female Saint. By the time Charlot boarded the ship, Sabastine had already taken care of most of them. Charlot didn’t waste any time—he didn’t even check whether Herolf was already on his way. Every second counted.
Instead of storming into the cabin, Charlot immediately located the control room. Peering through the large magic crystal window at the front, he roughly extended his hand and grabbed the Mirror Spirit, which let out a silent scream before disintegrating into ash.
The control room’s large magic crystal glass window was a fortunate design. If there had been multiple smaller windows, Charlot would have had to waste more effort. After eliminating the Mirror Spirit, Charlot climbed through the window, entering the control room and leaping onto the Magical Alchemy Warship's console.
Almost all Magical Alchemy Warships required a “Forbidden Code” to obtain operating permissions. Once the Forbidden Code was entered and identity verification completed, the ship’s full controls would be unlocked.
This particular warship originally belonged to the Fars Empire, meaning its initial Forbidden Code followed the empire’s universal system.
Herolf must have acquired the Forbidden Code to seize control of this warship.
Charlot, however, had no idea what the warship’s original Forbidden Code was, nor did he know whether Herolf had changed it. Yet, his prior profession in his past life as a mathematics teacher...
Well, that was irrelevant. No mathematical knowledge from Earth could crack Fars’ Forbidden Code.
What Charlot relied on was the Infinite Mirror World, which could reflect the external world and even record certain events and people to a limited extent. Charlot knew that the Infinite Mirror World could only reflect individuals at or below his rank, as it was essentially an extension of his own abilities. Naturally, Herolf, a Saint, wouldn’t appear in the reflection.
Charlot didn’t expect to rely on Herolf. Inside the control room’s crystal window, countless figures had come and gone, and Charlot quickly locked onto a Fars military officer—the ship’s original captain.
Soon, Charlot found the moment when the former captain had entered the Forbidden Code.
Charlot’s hands flew across the console as he re-entered the code. Though he could hear the thunderous roar of combat energy explosions outside, he ignored them and focused entirely on completing his task.
Once the code was fully entered, Charlot’s eyes lit up. The warship began verifying his identity. He activated Blood Glory, waiting for the warship to recognize its new owner.
The enormous alchemical masterpiece began roaring to life, initiating the process to validate its new master.
In the skies above, Sabastine fiercely battled Herolf. Though her strength was far inferior, Herolf had suffered numerous injuries recently, leveling the playing field. Their clash ended in a stalemate.
Herolf was both furious and alarmed. He hadn’t expected Charlot to be so audacious as to target his Magical Alchemy Warship. Still, he refused to believe Charlot could actually take control of it. Even as he engaged Sabastine, he attempted to activate the Saint Michael Spirit aboard the warship.
To his shock, every attempt to start the warship failed.
“What’s happening?”
“Could that despicable, shameless scoundrel have somehow learned the Forbidden Code? Impossible! I killed every Fars military officer who knew it!”
Herolf tried multiple times to storm the cabin, but Sabastine held him back at the cost of great effort. Silently, she cursed, “Charlot, you’d better succeed with this ship. If not, we’re doomed.”
The figure of the Saint Michael Spirit began to manifest, preparing to unleash an earth-shattering blow.
Sabastine knew she couldn’t withstand such an attack. Not the Saint Michael Spirit, not even the Magical Alchemy Warship if Herolf managed to regain control. This was a fight they couldn’t afford to lose.
Herolf tried again to activate the warship. This time, the vessel responded, rumbling to life...
Herolf’s joy was palpable as he shouted, “This time, you two will die by my hand!”
