For cheap collectables you can find autographed pictures of the U-boat aces signed post war. Members of the ordensgemeinschaft der Ritterkreuzträger would send out signed pictures beginning in the 1950's. They did this until became too ill from age or died. I began corresponding with them in the 1980's and have several hundred knights cross pictures. Among the U-Boat commanders I have Hess, Kretschmer, Topp, Hardegen, Suhren and others. Wolfgang Historica sells a lot of signed Knights Cross photos wartime and post war.
