Author Update

I'm sure you've noticed the lack of Underworld chapters, so I want to give you guys an idea what's going on. First of all, there's no life problems or anything keeping me from posting. There are no serious issues, so everything is okay.

The problem I've been having is in regard to the tone difference between Codename and Underworld. Because Underworld book 4 starts out right after they defeated the Minotaurs, I've had problems not taking a darker, Codename-like, approach to the chapters. I've never scrapped so much before. Part A of chapter 2 is a good example. The relationship between Elorion and Aeris is similar in many ways to Lucius and Victoria, but in other ways, it's completely different. If was only today that I actually decided that yes I would move on with it because the exchange finally feels like it's between the correct characters.

It's been pretty frustrating going back and forth so much. Sorry that you guys are having to suffer through it with me. I should have updated you much sooner.

The good news is that I think I finally have the feel right. Underworld has to have the fun aspect to it. Even if someone is brooding, it needs to still have the flavor. There is humor in Codename, but I let people suffer a bit more in that series and don't flavor it as much.

The goal for this coming week is to have at least one chapter out every other day. That means I'm going to try to get three full chapters out. More if I get in a good rhythm like I usually do once I'm really into a book.

On a side note, I'm considering writing three Underworld books in a row before I hit up Codename again. When I do write the next Codename, I may try to do another trilogy in that series. This might speed up how much I get accomplished because the transition can take more time than I like. Note: I'm still going to be writing on Codename as we do Underworld, just to a much lesser extent than my main focus.
