Where is AMP Enterprise up to?
Added 2020-08-03 11:46:19 +0000 UTCAMP Enterprise Edition has been under wraps for some time now, so we wanted to give a quick update as to what state it's currently at and when you can expect to be be able to purchase it.
You'll have no doubt noticed over the last few weeks that we've been working on WHMCS integration. During the course of building the WHMCS side of things a lot of changes that need to be made to AMP to accommodate this were revealed. This is what has been behind the new features such as AMPs new ability to show you the actual final IP/port for the application as opposed to the AMP instance itself.
A lot of these same features are also required even for users who aren't using any integrations, and we had to do a lot of work on the templating and deployment systems to make sure that new users were given the correct permissions and could access their instances.
We initially released a very limited number of Enterprise Edition licences under an NDA that prevented anyone from talking about it or even revealing that they had one while we tested stuff out and looked at what the sore spots are.
Later today we're going to send out the first batch of keys to people on the waiting list that don't have any NDA attached, and you can talk about it and share your experiences.
There are two more phases to go through before people can actually buy the keys:
Deployment Testing
This is the phase starting today, with only a couple of exceptions all AMP features that area specific to enterprise are expected to be usable. This includes the templates, deployment system, and the roles setup that allow you to restrict what end customers can do without having to assign individual roles or permissions. So we'll be looking for any issues surrounding these areas as everyone starts configuring their installations and getting things running with a very small number of 'test' customers but no actual live sales.
We're also going to make the WHMCS module available this week for users who want to use it as their billing platform, documentation on using that will follow shortly.
Live Environment Testing
Having got any initial issues out of the way, Enterprise users will be allowed to start processing live sales and using AMP in its full commercial capacity for the first time. We expect to start this in either one or two weeks depending on how many issues come up during deployment testing.
Go Live
Once those two are complete, the free trial period for Enterprise will end and the waiting list will no longer be in effect. As a thanks, everyone who took part will be given an extra months free usage gratis, but after that they'll need to purchase the appropriate sized AMP Enterprise Licence. Anyone else who was on the waiting list who wasn't part of the previous phases will receive an email saying that they can now purchase Enterprise Edition.

I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone for their patience, rolling out something like this is extremely difficult. There is a delicate balance between letting people try stuff early and creating an unworkable support load, so this has to be done in phases so we can minimise issues. But the end result is that AMP Enterprise will be fully released before the end of August to everyone.
