I finally am through with my (scribbly scrunkly) layout sketches for the next chapter(s).

This is "BEHIND THE SCENES" material, so if you don't wanna look at it, you will not miss anything, as I will make these real pages later on. [[Everything is still subject to deviate from this draft]]
As the sketches are very rough, some handwritten texts are just impossible to read. But re-lettering for the storyboard is too much work, and the next step will already be the real (shortened?) lettering for the final pages. This is just a decipher-spoiler offer for the curious :3
The 1 planned Reuben POV chapter became 3 chapters, because his flashback was just so long.
After trying to condense my first draft, I was at least able to cut out 28 of 262 pages and reduce them to 234. Mostly just filler panels/dialogue here and there and scenes that did not have much purpose.
Also, I cut out some graphic violence and left a bit more to the imagination. Overall I think that made it better. A few panels or scenes that are more noticeably missing are collected in the "deleted scenes" file, attached below.

But she does NOT gossip about Carter eventually. The chapter is supposed to end on the note, that we know the secret is save with her for now. Reuben reminds her that all their friends are untrustworthy, so she throws any plans aside anyway to talk to any of them. She considered talking to Reuben about it, cause she knows he would not tell anyone and seems to care about Carter’s issues, but when he says he doesn’t wanna know, she does not even go into any detail. So I know what you mean in terms of regressing in her morals, but its meant to be more like going from ”in this situation talking about Carter should be fine“ but then remembering that ”yeah, right, wouldn’t feel great doing“. As it’s far from the final text version, I will try to make this more clear later. I wanted to set up a little thing that phanda COULD potentially use to hold over carter’s head, (and that his ”leaving the door open“ tendency actually HAS a little payoff, of someone overhearing (but not during the scene everyone expected it 😂) but at this point (like when he’s not trying to fuck her boyfriend) phanda has no reason to use against him. It’s supposed to be a little tension of wondering, if she would fall into the category ”jealous ex girlfriend, turning into toxic gossip bitch“ or if she can actually be helpful to the MC. I hope I explained that coherently, cause I take your problem with the scene seriously, cause it’s really not how I want it to be read.
