Here's a redesign that was run for the Legends II book, but will now also be included in a Jade Falcon faction pack, the Gyrfalcon.
While not the biggest fan of totem mechs as a concept, I still like them when they're done well. I think the Kuritan samurai styled mechs have fared the best. On the other end I think the Jade falcon totems wasted a lot of potential. Bird mechs, but often stuck with odd proportions or body types. Also likely a lack of technical capabilities when introduced meant non could properly lean into bird forms.
So my goal with this mech was firstly to take the old angular caricatured torso and make it more sleek, befitting its movement profile. Along with that, a head that took the bird theme more seriously and didn't have glass that served almost no use.
Now I think the torso matches well with the legs. Leaving only the mechanical gun pod arms, but I didn't think those needed to drastically change.
Was anyone else eternally bothered by the totem wings on falcon mechs always looking like a cartoonish wood stocked rifle?
