Hermes II Concept Sketch

Design done by Harri Kallio, then a fair bit of meddling by me on the head and lower legs.
This is one I've always considered such an unappealing mech with a boring body and a goofy head. With this redesign I still wouldn't say it's winning beauty pageants, but it certainly looks a lot better, especially in the final sculpt.
Which of you weirdos will be running it?

We've seen major quality issues with such thin pieces like that on the minis, worst being the hatchetman's heel stabilizers. So while there is a portion here of me wanting to tone down a more silly design element, it was also to ensure the feet cast nicely.

Always a 'mech with fluff that made it sound more interesting than the rules actually allowed it to be (at least until recently with the advent of quirks), and with art that made it look like some sort of clanking steampunk comic relief, now this looks like the effective special-purpose machine it was supposed to be.

2022-05-21 12:51:59 +0000 UTCVery nice! Anyone that plays Free Worlds League should be running them heavily as Recon/Hunter-Killer/ and even Trooper mechs, since this is one of their mainstays. Not to nitpick but you might add another layer of ankle "wings" as its a main identifier of the Mech, what you have is great, but slightly more of it's original flair won't hurt!
