I feel bad for Pepe. I think he's the same as Auba and just wants to be loved at a club. Pepe had so much confidence when he joined and that has just been slowly eroded as he's not at the right team, system, coach. His straight backed saluting celebration has just become slowly plodding in the direction of the crowd, not wanting to celebrate with them. He knows his own fans think he's a 'flop' or disappointment for the money, and that must be horrible for quite a sensitive person.

Elliot last pod you mentioned about body language of the hug between Mikel and Martinelli. Wonder what u made of the almost Non Hug hug of Mikel with Pepe last evening. You should have seen Pepe's body language when he was giving the hug to Arteta there was absolutely no eye contact or smile. They rather not be there in front of the television cameras to give a proverbial hug. What do you make of it?

It’s fine to say Pepe didn’t impress today, but neither did Tavares. He misplaced a lot of simple passes today and made some very questionable decisions. I love Tavares, but this was not one of his better games.

Re Pepe’s pudding. All your points are incredibly valid and insightful, but surely there’s also the rust factor to consider? He grew into the game considerably. He’s played fuck all minutes for a while now, so performance to be expected surely. I wish we’d, stick him more central and see if his game suits that area more as Clive suggests. 🙌🏼
