I think the title of this pod was prophetic! 😂

“…he plays like a fan would play” 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 Another great discussion guys! 👍🏿

Brilliant feedback and thoughts 👏🏾

Great point

Once we improve our ‘second ball’ football, as in come out winning more of those 50/50’s, we’ll dominate more of our games. We weren’t very good at that in the first half, but improved a lot on it in the 2nd half

You don’t change club culture without getting your hands dirty and, arguably, go overboard with discipline. We’ve had massive problems with accountability for years. Whatever we think of Arteta long-term, there’s no denying he has made a difference in a couple of key areas. Recruitment looks much improved and team unity stays strong even when results suffer. I haven’t seen that for years. I love AW but I hated the way he allowed the players to shirk responsibility without a stern response. I think it’s important to speak about these topics because the way the club perceives and projects itself to the players, staff and fans, will raise or lower our status and potential short and long-term. Thumbs up for taking the time to discuss these topics that often get overlooked.

Family come before your work especially when you have F you money. Now we will see who are the adults in the room. The Amazon series may also be informing Arteta’s decisions.

It’s clearly time you made a pod cast tailored for every individual member to avoid negative comments. 🙄. Who would I have as captain? Our new central midfielder.

It’s appreciated!

I appreciate it, I just felt like I had to comment because if only the people annoyed comment, then the people who think you’re spot on can sort of fade into the background. Just had to get that perspective out there

Thanks Matthew. The feedback is important as it helps keep us covering things appropriately. But this is one I don’t think we could pass on.

Everyone’s being a little harsh in reviews imo. Auba clearly an important isssue. Another solid pod and I appreciate all the content you’re putting out for us also #ramsdaleforcaptain

The one point about Auba is that he is a repeat offender. I still can't get my head around the fact that if tehre were any comms at all in case he couldnt come back the night. A phone call, text message, additional leave or pulling out of teh match due to personal leave. The options are unlimited. He is repeat offender and must go that's all.

I understand not covering “drama” excessively. But when it has real world impact that’s out in the open then I think it’s something else. He was left out of the team and may continue to be left out. And he’s the captain and highest paid player. This isn’t just sort of rumors of unhappiness. There’s some real detail here. Maybe we got it wrong but in general when your star player is left out of the team for disciplinary reasons I think it’s a worthwhile story.

I think Auba is an important topic but not in this context. Too much emphasis on drama at Arsenal by the media as a whole. I don’t think you needed to get dragged down with them on this one. I was surprised the Athletic spent so much time on this too.

Ramsdale for all all the way with Gabriel, Ode as vice captain. The passion of Ramsdale will permeate through to the team and in my opinion will transform the team.

😂 love this

The real way to determine who should be captain, in my extremely learned opinion, is for you to imagine us winning the the title. Who do you see hoisting the trophy? Personally i think the person should be tall, ideally with the ability to scream like a viking disembarking from a longship with axe in hand. For me that's Rammsdale. Honorable Mentions: Tierney, Gabriel, Ødegaard (he's norwegian so it's obligatory)

You don’t think it’s an important topic?

Yawn

Fair enough. It’s sort of a big issue with our star player / captain. And the game was fun but it’s sort of a standard victory over a very bad team at home. Not sure how you get around the auba stuff

Way way too long on The Aubameyang issue.

Team Arteta all day long. The only way a club of Arsenal's size, and financial constraints can win things is under a strong coach, who can implement a ruthless culture. Even clubs who have unlimited funds, and abundance of talent, become much better once they appoint an "authoritarian" coach - City with Pep are a great example.

Sweet Just finished Arsecast
