Elliot, city/liverpool both spent hundreds of millions on defenders who can defend high and pass well. being able to play a high line lets you create more frequent attacking waves and higher quality ones, its very important to scoring and not just a cope for spending money on defenders. football isn't about specific roles anymore

Wasnt a big part of last season that we couldnt play properly when just a couple af pieces were missing? So getting backup pieces that fit should help us out.

I feel Edu, Arteta and the board are so out of touch with the expectations of the fans. While I see the benefits of moving towards squad development and all that good stuff, a whole lot of fans, including myself, thought we were a few first team brilliant signings away from contending for the top 4 positions this season ( CM, LW, RB, GK). Especially when you consider being out of Europe this season. We embarking on this “project youth” is an admission of failure. They are going on a new route that would take a longer time to attain any type of success so they have a new excuse.
