What I’m trying to do is make it clear when I have criticisms of him that I’m keeping them specific to the topic at hand. Also it’s been a really weird time with Covid, and I think there’s a tendency to want to caveat things due to the strange circumstances. For example, a game that probably should’ve been called off Friday night where several first team players weren’t available. It just makes it hard to have a really clear conclusion about things. But I will definitely work harder to just give my opinion as clearly as I can without feeling like I need to caveat it to avoid people getting upset
2021-08-20 18:42:58 +0000 UTCBeen listening for 2 years, but lately I’ve been really confused by this pod, whenever the manager is brought up for discussion by anyone (in this episode or or others), what is being said HAS to be prefaced first by a littany of assurances that they are not criticizing the manager, or that the thing they are saying may not turn out to be true, etc ( I feel elliot is the biggest culprit of this, but everyone does it). Arteta is going on his third season now, do you guys really not know how you feel yet? Because I do, even when we were winning, the football has not been fun to watch. I suspect that some on the pod feel the same but are afraid of upsetting factions of fans. I say to that, who cares. Are you a politician? When you do that it sounds a little disingenous. You should stand behind your opinions more and not fear upsetting people so much if you criticize a manager thats starting on his third season. Rant over.

All we need is a top class RB, remind Chelsea which team beat them twice last season on Sunday, then we reclaim the top four and get Odegaard on the phone to Haaland, pick him up for €70 million next Summer, then sit back and enjoy winning everything for a decade.
