Elliot, Clive & Paul decide the fate of the squad. They go one by one through a list of players and decide whether to keep or sell. If you'd like to see the results in spreadsheet form you can find it here:
Good discussion around Nelson. I get annoyed when we talk about human beings career as commodities. This is where I feel sorry for Nelson. Last season he was in Germany and playing with Sacho talked about as one of the stars. You bring him back don't give him any minutes bring a aged William from Chelsea and give him all the minutes. It's not only playing with a young players career plus you are also not sending a proper message to academy prospects and from long term strategy as well. The club had destroyed Nelson and it's on them. This season should have been a breakthrough for him from a career perspective. We have destroyed a youth man. It's on Arteta, Edu and Per you guys are professional player and yet how can you treat one like this. I get incensed on so many academy players who we have tossed around like commodities so many years. Frank Merida, Zelalem, Vela, Gnabry, willock, AMN, Sczeny, Bartley etc so many of them. Compare this with all the terrible money we have spent on Lichestainer, Willian, Gallas, Suarez, Ceballos, Kola, Musti and so on.
We have to be more serious on our academy and should be our pride. I just cannot accept them to be like a commodity period.

Great pod!
You guys left out any discussion about the three players that give us hope for the future.
Nobody would like Tierney, ESR and Saka to go. Nobody.
Yet "everybody has a price", we always say.
Would you sell Tierney for 60 millions?
Would you sell ESR for 45 millions?
Would you sell Saka for 85 millions?
At what price do you think that letting go of either of these players would enable us to progress as a team?

This is a great pod. I think Elliott is spot on re Nelson. Paul’s intimation that we automatically lose the next 4 games if Nelson plays isn’t quite correct.
Are our results worse this season i.e. 9th and out of all cups. If Nelson and saliba get Willian and holding’s minutes this season?
Nelson 100% should’ve gone on loan but we’re definitely missing a trick by not playing.

Willock has also benefited from a run of games in a team that has different demands to Arsenal. Playing Reiss at Arsenal after being out for a long time may not have raised his value. It could raise his value but it could also tank his value because he has not played in a long time plus the pressure of Arsenal fans is a lot so it is hard to know if Reiss' value could go either way tbh.

Paul's 'fuck me' about ainsley 12m valuation is hilarious

Getting slowly crushed by your team is the quintessential English football team experience - it would be short changing him otherwise.

Elliot came in with the jokes this episode. I think the more Arsenal gets worse the funnier he gets.

Well said... its amazing how people are bought into this concept of a 'project' when there is no structure, strategy or clear road map in place. And in reality, most projects fail to deliver the outcomes across time, quality and cost, especially when the leadership is so poor. Arteta's so call 'great communication' is no different to a fancy management consultancy PowerPoint slide that talks the talk but in reality under delivers.

Clive keeps talking about a project. It is not a project when you are giving Willian a 15 million sign on and 100k in wages or 300k a week to Auba. These are wasted funds if we are project that is going to compete in 3-5 years. The project is nothing more than marketing because a project requires a coherent strategy on and off the pitch. There is no coherent coaching strategy and there is no coherent recruitment strategy.

No need for a backup striker. Arteta can use his preferred position of a false 9.
