Yeah that’s fair

Yeah don’t get me wrong Dean, he’s a fantastic defender and a great athlete. I do still wonder if he has the passing and final ball for a modern fullback though. He played on the right against Leicester and I didn’t think he really got into the game

Yeah I have to agree. Especially because Auba won’t be at his peak forever and edouard might not only help now but set us up for later

Thanks Christopher!

great job guys. always insightful

Regardless of his missed chance, Lacazette was the best of the front 3. Auba and Willian were poor.

Bit harsh on AMN, you’re judging him playing out of position. More importantly he still hasn’t had a run of games, so we need to allow for a lack of match sharpness. A few of his misplaced passes last night were down to fatigue, he was f@cking wrecked!! He needs a proper run in the team before final judgement is passed like this. I think when we’re ready to play the back 4 he needs a game at CM. He has the athleticism, recovery speed, and is press resistant. He was one of maybe 2 or 3 players who could run with Liverpool last night. TAA had very little joy against him one on one

There's a lot of focus on our midfield, but for me our attack is as big a worry. Only one of three delivers the quality we need. As Paul pointed out, look at Leicester, Maddison + Vardy. Can see why Partey and Aouar are difficult deals to do but Lacazette is surely not adding value to himself this season and feel selling him for say 20m and replacing him with an Edouard ie, would've been doable I feel. Not doing that feels like a mistake. Lacazette lost all burst to lose his opponent or get around a keeper, its just sad to watch. For me, an Aouar + Edouard window would be a massive upgrade to the spine of this team and would massively upgrade our dynamic play in zone 14 AND counterattack. This Seems doable, future proof business and maybe even better than getting a 50m, 27yr Partey?

Liking the Poz background , reminded me if the scene in Heat . Interesting on Arteta’s style of play - it’s clear he likes organisation but having played under Wenger agree that he may like to play with more attacking style once we have the players ..

Yeah my hope is that he’s building to a more progressive system because the attack still seems a bit too restrained

I’m very pleased we didn’t get battered on the pitch, the overall play was fine, but from January onwards and a year in the job i’d expect Arteta to start pushing creativity

Who knew Poz was actually Stephen King?

Yeah that’s a fair point. The gulf in technical quality from where we need to be is pretty clear

In his interview Arteta caveated saying there is more than one way to play by adding "unless you are far superior" Think he just knows we need better players to play better football and still maintain a high consistency of results

Deedash Redd

Yeah definitely some new data points to consider

Not sure if I’d put “my expectations for the season” in stock rising or stock falling after this
