The fight only went that long because Conquest chose to toy with him the entire fight until Mark had raged out, that’s when Conquest locked in and tried to finish him quick. And Conquest could’ve killed everyone on the planet still even with all his skin burnt off and one arm, so that wasn’t Eve’s kill but she did give Mark the advantage.

i get what y’all sayin but yall just can’t see the development? season 1 mark was a kid that idolised his dad. finally got his powers, trained with his dad and improved, then all of a sudden got hit with a big ass shock and betrayal. season 2 mark spent the whole time holding back, trying not to be like his dad. debbie got hurt, mark snapped, and killed angstrom (or so he thought), making him think he failed at the one thing he was trying to avoid. season 3 started with mark getting put thru training and increasing his speed and strength by like 108% or whatever the fuck. he was still trying to be the “good guy” while cecil was being the one to “save the world”. mark couldn’t tell the two apart. mark was ripping the reanimen apart. the same ones that he almost got killed by in season 1. the same ones that gave omni man a hard time in season 1. he’s obviously gotten stronger. he’s obviously changing. at the end of this season, he realises that cecil wasn’t wrong. he realises that, although maybe nolan’s methods were morally grey, they were efficient. the whole point is that there’s always a bigger, badder mofo and that mark keeps making imperfect choices and learning. if he was fully developed, always right and unstoppable, the story would be over. we got 8 seasons of this at the least
