End of Locktober!

Who here made it through Locktober? Or even make it halfway? I'm honestly ever so proud of all of you who decided to take part.
Today's little image set, was me being at the end of my tether with script-tweaks and trying to make the layout documents for my next few pages and just running out of time. I wanted to get the next few pages feeling more... playful, and interesting (which I think you guys will LOVE what I've been cooking <-- Scent play? YES PLS.) But it means there are more pages, and since they are all more-or-less the same moment; finding and adding reference images to my Photoshop files has taken way more time than I thought it would. When I realized I probably needed another week on it, I decided to put this together. I really wish I had the same level of confidence as other artists out there to just... make thumbs appear out of thin air. But in reality, I suffer a lot at the 'blank page phenomenon'. SO I just go grabbing as much material from my reference folders as I can, take a ton of photos, crop a bunch, snag movie screenshots, and push and pull and move and edit all over the place till the page starts to feel RIGHT. It's laborious and time-consuming and when your doing it across 5 pages - intense. I needed a break...

I had a lot of fun knocking this one out the past few days! Trying to emulate that high-up-held camera hurt my brain a bit but was feeling so fun! I do wish I'd used some sort of render in the end, instead of making up as I went was also freeing. Lots of little nagging details I wish I could go back and redo, but instead I just let it sit and kept moving forward.
Gosh alive, I LOVE the idea of Nick getting a text like this. Especially if it's the first day after Locktober. Can you imagine being excited to go on a date with your boo, cage-free after so much time only to get this little pic on your phone? Chef's kiss. Bravo Owen, you've done it again ;D
