A snack while you wait...

I'm SO close to getting you a real update! I want to get my layouts all done for the next post, and I'm still in the stage of tweaking text and finding references as I go. Right now the QnA looks like it's 10 pages... which is still way TOO MANY to layout in a week. But they're all so gooood, so I don't want to trim anything major yet. =/

The QnA's are meant to be these fast inbetweeners, but this one does hit on some important notes and tones? So I'm not sure how hard I ought to go on them?! I'd love all of your guy's input. Do I refine it to the best of my ability even though that takes a great deal of time? Or try to reduce the workload, and cut corners?

In my head I'm thinking of doing a combination of these two stages:

A tighter pencil stage, that's not inked -so I don't have to be too precious about the details, with some standard flats underneath it. Maybe one easy quick and dirty shade if it feels too-flat. In the previous QnA's I also inked the artwork - and really I'm just wondering if my recent cleaned-up pencils  - are good enough to skip that?

Heck maybe I just match the 'Hourlies Style?'

The bigger reason I've been a bit silent this past week is that I'm also trying to pre-prepare as many of these pages as possible before next week - when I have to fly and see family for a 2-week family wedding thing. The more prep work I can get done now, the more I can do in between family moments and helping with the whole wedding!

The screenshot's at the top of this post; is from the Sketchup file I'm working on; Trying to develop and build out Nick and Judy's apartment a bit more (the previous chapter was at Owen's place - and we've only briefly seen this place in a few choice panels - it was about time I thickened it out. I just wish there were more Zoop-themed SketchUp assets out there for me to add in!)

TLDR: I'm busy working on these pages to get them ready to show you all! More to come soon I swear.

Oh, I use Google Sketchup! There are a lot of free-to-use models out there that you can just drag and drop into it and then move around. I find it super useful for building out a space, and not having to make it all by hand. There are also some cool sites that sell fully laid-out environments meant for comics too if you want to try those! https://www.acon3d.com/en/toon

Side bar: what software do you use for your environments?? They look so good

Im fine with you putting more time and work into the Q&A if you think it’s worth the effort. It’s always fun to see the in between story stuff, especially if it touches on interesting thoughts or sets up something later on. I’m here for the good art, I’m going to get that with either option. The design of the rooms looks really cool. Happy to see some world building. I’m paid up for the year so I have no urgency on what you put out and how often.
