Ties That Bind - Page 12 Finished!

Next day EDIT - made a tinnny change: I've updated Nick's eyes whites in panel 1, so they are floating above his pupil and removed his one little wet corner on his eye. I heard from some folk that they thought he looked like he was about burst into tears! Which was not the expression I was trying to get across at all! This is supposed to be reeling, shock and awe. A held breath, heat thumping, adrenaline spiking, panic rising, and all that loveeeeely fight or flight. <3 <3 <3 Hope this works better!

Oh my gosh, I planned to get this done for you all on Sunday, but things just kept sucking up my time. Even now: I gotta dash for an evening thing; so I'll promote this all in the morning, and figure out the single panels hopefully later on tomorrow if I find a few spare moments at work!

Welp. I bet you can tell, but I'm hella pleased with that big maw-shot =D. Don't ask me how, but it really came together! I was pretty zoomed into it and just kept adding bits of shiny to it; which is like a super zen meditative thing to do, but can more often than not, lead me to over-focusing on something and forget to zoom out. But this one worked out! Owen's tongue feels predatory and hungry. And I think Judy looks aware/not-aware enough that it hits just the right VIBE. =D I'd briefly tried 'making her eyes look glassy and whiter. Meesh just posted a glassey-eyed Juno picture and I thought it was such a rad look. But it didn't really look right on my/this Judy: she just sort of looked blind when I tried it? Maybe something to try again in the future. He also used some fancy lines on those eyes too, but that feels pretty next-level to me!

I am a smidge sad that the background didn't get to have much play on the final page: I had to cover a lot of it up in the blue/purple to help the characters pop out, and to help blend the previous pages into this one - it's important to me that the pages feel good when being read one after another. Don't get me wrong -I'm happy with the result. But I just wish I'd had more space on the page to let the scene have its space.

All in all, I'm really proud of this page. And the last couple too? It's shocking to see page 1 and 2 of this chapter and see how much pages more dialed in these latest ones feel (at least to me). I hope you've been digging it as much as I have to be working on it.

Tomorrow or Thursday I'll crack into page 13's pencils. We're slowly getting to the end of this chapter =D
