Ties That Bind - Page 7 Finished!

A slightly different kind of page today - I'm excited to share it!

A lot of you higher tiers will already know why I went the route of a 1-panel page exterior layout, as I think I chatted it out a bunch with you all in the locked tiers. But it's time to loop the rest of you in too!

As I was starting to layout pages 7, 8, 9 a few weeks ago, I had the realization that my script was WAY too big and needed reworking. I wanted to try a new idea for the scene, and so wrote it out (before deciding that Nah - my original was pretty good it just needed the fat trimmed off). All that 'reworking and script stuff' - is largely invisible, and so I wanted to have a page I could work on and tinker with, that wasn't so dependent on the script; A big exterior shot.

I got to have a bunch of fun building out Zoop-location (btw, this is Owen Reed's Apartment, he lives on that top floor with a flatmate), while I worked on my script. But also, I sort of think this works well as a narrative piece too. It lets Nick have his monologue moment without just having a monotonous page of his face yapping away, and set's a contrasting scene. He's talking about crazy intense kinks, while outside, the world just goes on like normal. I think that sort of juxtaposition, right before we go back into the room, makes things feel interesting and grounded. It's like how stepping out of a perfumed space only to return to shortly later - will let you re-smell all those scents again. We'll be diving back into the room, on the next page, and maybe the contrast will make us feel and see the words in a fresh light, make 'em hit harder... or not. I mean, whatever right? It was FUN to draw, and exciting for me to do ;D

I had all these visions of filling that space up with 100's of characters and cameos. But had to cut it short when I realized I was investing too much time to make them all look nice! A couple of cameos: AmazingGwen and her partner, Siroc, and a zoop'ed up Patrick from Kadath (that last one missed the mark a bit, but it's Patrick in spirit ;D )

I've attached an HD version of this page without the text, just cause there's so much going on in this one, I figure you'd want to see it pixel-deep.

Up next - I gotta layout the next page or two. Feeling freshly excited =D I also need to typo-check the updated script and post it here sometime soon too.
