A Wordpress Site for the comic?

Hm... I don't really see the benefit, since you can read the full thing comfortably on a lot of sites. (Unfortunately, yet inevitably even the exclusive stuff.) On the other hand it won't hurt either. Maybe more convenient to post a link. You could look into getting some less-intrusive ads on there. Sorry not much of a help here! :P

I got this! Been around the block a few times so I know the basics =) Not sure I want Ad's and the likes, beyond pushing the Patreon. We'll see how it shapes out as I go.

A lot of it is set and forget. Other stuff you would need to monitor. But if you are doing it full time, every dollar counts. Why let Furaffinity or E621 make the ad revenue from people reading your stuff? That's money that could be in your pocket. You could hire some one from fiverr, or fine some one on here, I might know a guy who works cheap.... to set it up for you.

Oh man, I might keep it more bare-bones than that, but I love where you're thinking. A big ol 'Patreon' link would suffice for the moment! My thinking; is that it would just be nice to have a place where all the comics are lined up neat and easy to read.

There are lots of ways you could monetize a wordpress site that you can't here. I would definitely say do it. Everything from add placement, to physical and digital products. Even sponsorships if you were interested. If you want to chat about it let me know.

2. Get your own backup. Get a second (or first!) external HD that plugs into your Wi-Fi router via Ethernet. Even if you do not set up an account with Seagate or Buffalo, you can always R/W inside your own Wi-Fi. But without an account, you cannot access it from the outside. Which might be beneficial. Done mine this way since 2009. Had my own cloud before they even had a name for it!

1. Work/talk with a trusted artist, pref someone IRL. THEY (dammit) they can show you things easier over your shoulder than over a Zoom call. But def talk w someone who is already doing it.

I spend a lot of my working life remediating malware on Wordpress sites, so just be sure that if you make one you keep it up to date, you take regular automatic backups(more than one backup source/service), and be aware that the best way to secure a site is to start secure, behind a web application firewall like Cloudflare or Sucuri that'll mask the site's IP, make it harder to attack. Once it's been on the web without security it'll take pestering your web host for an IP change to escape something like a DDoS or targeted attack. I'll visit it if ya make it, but I wanna do so as a Pateron and not as my day job <3

Sorry to say I don’t have much insight to offer. As a supporter, my biggest concern would be you continuing to make art and knowing if the word press site would host the highest resolution pictures or not. Having all the pages with easy access sounds good to me, but if they’re going to be lower resolution, I probably won’t use it that much cause I want to see those crisp details. Outside of that, whatever helps makes things easier for you during a time of mass uncertainty is fine with me.

Well heck, first that's rough. I got laid off before and had to move back with my fam. They're great luckily, just sucks. As for the website, tbh I say wait till you go full time bull and then decide if it's what you need. Making one can be a lil time consuming and doesn't necessarily help all that much. Now if you want one as a backup in something goes wrong with Patreon then heck yeah, but even that should wait till you go full time! For me, I wouldn't mind paying for higher teir at all! I freakin love your work.
