It's the same thing with Usopp and Nami. Nami is very good at sneaking and slight of hand while also having her genuine courageous moments. Usopp is very intelligent, an amazing sniper, and good at inventing things like Nami's weapon. But put them together and they are always either terrified or running for their lives

It's also really useful because Nami is not as strong as the other monsters in the crew and Ussopp is normally with her for the comedy gold so Sanji immediately always helping her works well to keep the normies in the crew safe while Zoro and Luffy are off doing stupid stuff or kicking ass

2024-12-19 20:56:05 +0000 UTCSanji portrays himself as someone who just cares for the women, but it's immediately betrayed by his actions, in this case saving not just Nami but Usopp as well. Nami does the same. There was a scene in Alabasta when they were crossing the desert, she was feeling down thinking about Vivi staying behind but she says to be down because she's giving up the 1 billion berry. It's like they don't know to act their true feelings or how to express it right so they joke about it, to ease the tension maybe. But they all care about each other and they show it in critical moments.
