Rough design concept for the omobold, a robotic kobold.
I wanted to see how a hologram or no-mouth face would look like more clearly before committing to a 3d model. Not sure which I want to go with but i feel the hologram version would be more popular so I'm leaning to it.
They serve as a tutorial dump for new players. They use a helicopter mode to follow you around and spout basic game actions and tips if you get near them.

I've been having a hard time conceptualizing how things should look in the main Kobold Garden game without having the actual kobold design finalized so here's my first attempt at it. Going with a cartoony style while feeling physically realistic in 3d. This may change a bit as I polish but I feel this is close to what the final model may be like.

Sorry for he lack of updates so far. Again, again, again. When theres so much going on I seem to get tunnel vision'd easily trying to get everything in as fast as possible. But it's all coming together!
Currently the kobolds just cycle through their animations but the plans to get them to cycle specific ones with percentages according to their mood and what they know. Like dancing is a learned skill when raised enough so most wont dance at first.

In polishing and getting the build ready, I've decided to go all in on more detailed graphics. Since Steam builds are aimed for PC, they can handle a lot more graphically compared to phones so I've added more detailed trees and grass. I've been slightly concerned with how smol kobold garden might look too different from main kobold garden when compared. I feel these changes helps give it a better garden feel while bringing it closer graphically to the eventual main game.

Had some unfortunate last minute issues. I assumed this would just work but apparently if you lock the system cursor so a fake cursor can be used, the event system that handles all the cursor events still reads off the locked cursor. Meaning you couldn't click on any ui buttons. Nothing seems to change this, even forcing it to read from the fake cursors position so I wrote my own cursor handler that mimics clicking and dragging states of the real cursor. Been working on revamping the loot/pin minigame. I wanted to give a better sense of progression as you play so Instead of just giving you a list of levels, you'll be able to progress through multiple worlds in a similar manner to Super Mario Bros 3. Every world is procedurally generated so you'll never run out of worlds to run through. You could play forever! When a level is complete you get a ranking from 0-3 stars and those stars show up on the bottom of the levels tile.

With one week left I'm getting pretty nervous but the progress continues. The menu system is complete with all the menus and buttons working. Got a small foliage model done and textured. Smol Kobold Garden has been off to a great start, what you see here is the main garden! The big structure there is just a big tree, I hope to have its roots look like it's spreading out more through the textures but I'm just using some placeholder textures for now.
