2023-10-16 00:40:32 +0000 UTCI saw Smile when it was released in cinemas. Friends loved it, I thought it was just ok. Part of my issue with the film is that there's a bit of a tone issue where some scenes that were supposed to come off as creepy just come off as goofy and hilarious. There was also a fire alarm during the third act of the movie which probably didn't help with the experience, but the film felt pretty long anyway. I haven't seen Totally Killer; the premise sounds very similar Final Girls which came out 5-6 years ago. I heard the film stars Kiernan Shipka, Olivia Holt, and Julie Bowen. Kiernan Shipka played Sally Draper on Mad Men and Sibrina Spellman on TCAOS. Olivia Holt who plays the teen version of Kiernan's mom played one of the main characters who was abducted in the first season of Cruel Summer, she also played Dagger in Marvel's Cloak & Dagger. Julie Bowman who plays the older version of Olvia Holt's character played Clair Dunphy, the mom in Modern Family.
