Sunday Update! august 28th, 2022

so an unfortunate progression of my mention of psychosis last week: turns out i've been experiencing the onset of schizophrenia all year and i just hit the acute stage, so my ass was laid FLAT this week between terrible sleep and super intense waves of just complete lethargy where i'm stuck laying in bed almost all day feeling like i could fall asleep barely able to feed myself at the worst of it

thankfully i've been prescribed an anti-psychotic (abilify) and i've been showing improvements between the reduction efforts i've made and the anti-psychotic, but yeah That's something i have to try to work around now which is pretty frustrating after previously finally getting over a year of very turbulent mental health, this week has felt like the longest week of my Life!

We’re here for you!

Rest well and for as long as you need to, we're here for you no matter what!! I've had mental health issues that were extremely disabling and seemed impossible to overcome at the time. Like, no light at the end of the tunnel. One has to learn to be patient with oneself, but I can assure you that with time, it gets easier. Way way easier. Every bad day makes you better equipped for the next one as you work it all out. Just take it slow, let your ass lay flat if it needs to ! Sending good vibes (sorry if the phrasing is weird my autistic ass doesn't know how to words)

I’m sorry you’ve been struggling with your mental health so much this year. I actually recently started abilify too! 🤝

the feeling of getting on anti-psychotics fucking slaps, 😎

❤️❤️❤️

My sister was diagnosed with psychosis a few months ago, so I know second hand how difficult it can be to deal with. I'm praying you get through this well. It's very nice to know that the medication is helping, though

damn, had no idea. for what it's worth, one of the volunteers at the shelter i go to has schizophrenia and she says with the medication she's on she's almost completely fine, it just feels impossible to deal with at first. think she's wrapping up college. you can get through this, just remember that.
