A Post Most Expected

Good evening, my friends.

It is, unfortunately, the post you're probably expecting to see.

To say I'm heartbroken is an understatement. I've been crunching to hell and back trying to make my Christmas deadline. I was really hoping to be able to take Christmas/New Year off and enjoy life without that...thing still hovering above my head like a cartoon anvil.

But...it's just not ready.

It's just not.

I have not come this far, with what is certainly the most anticipated video I'll ever make, to upload something that's not done.

There is good news, however. Light at the end of the tunnel.

The crunch has failed, but it has gotten me very close to the finish line. At present, the CNA video is content complete.

That is to say everything is recorded (which would've been done ages ago had I not needed to fucking re-record Phases G/H, but nevermind), assembled on the timeline in the correct order with all the cuts complete. You can watch the full video from start to finish just fine.

All I've left now is finishing the polish - mainly the motion graphics, but also the hundred or so little things that make up a complete video. There are large chunks of video that are already done in this department. It's mainly the mid-to-late parts that I'm still working on.

That is to say: It's coming in January. I'm going to take a much-needed break for Christmas/New Year, and then get cracking. I wanted to end the year with a bang, but I've come to terms with the new reality: we'll start the year with one.

Please accept my apology for the delay, again. Unfortunately getting updates from me means you get to hear me delude myself over and over again.

JUST A WEEK AWAY

I'm inherently optimistic when it comes to big projects (a good trait, I think - since I'd never do anything cool otherwise) and thus I'm endlessly wrong about how long I think it'll take me to do.

So uh...maybe it'll be early February. Maybe the combat graphics are going to be that bad. I hope not, but we shall see.

P.S. You can see why the House Flipper video was my last one before Christmas - I did not make the maps, nor did I edit the video. Still couldn't save me sadly.
