Update 7/5/22: Downtown Beach pt.2 -- Enemies!

So much for having daily updates... Still, I'm not too upset with having some stuff every few days.

In addition to the slab of beef from the last update-- maybe I'll split the difference, and call him 'Beach Himbo'?-- here's the other enemies to be found here.

Just a basic hefty lady. Tried to deviate from my standard 3/4 facing pose here with a slightly more dynamic stretch. Lady's got back problems, doncha' know!

This lady, meanwhile, is the designated predator enemy of the area. Look at that gut! She's another attempt at mixing up poses, and proportions. I'm not too wild about how it came out ultimately, but it's not terrible, and I could always use some fatties that are so obviously BELLY-themed.

And, while I showed her off in an earlier post, there's the lifeguard, who specifically goes from regular lady to gluttonous fatty over the course of the game:

These two will be in Phase 2. The rare (and difficult) pred-variant, and regular phase 3 beach enemy, will look like this:

And the line will (presently) conclude in Phase 4's Landwhale Lifeguard:

...I might actually go back and make a bigger size for her, looking at this now.

It's kind of... 'small' for a landwhale, thinking about it.

Anyway, in addition to these enemies you can encounter/fight/eat, there are a special duo tied to the revised quest system. Meet Sandra and Shelly!

These two bloated ladies will first appear in Phase 1, trying to get to the Beach, but they'll actually amount to something in Phase 2. What exactly that 'something' is, I'm not too sure yet, but I'm thinking they'll impede the player from accessing part of the beach, leading to a fight with them. Afterwards, you can eat them, or spare them. Maybe even feed them? Point is, if you leave them alone, they'll be sure to get bigger...

This tubby twosome are actually VERY minor characters from the interactive, basically a pair of rival beach preds that confront the main characters of their arc--Sophie, no relation to Phoebe, and her bfff Julie-- and attempt to drive them off *their* hunting grounds. Needless to say, it goes poorly for them.

I can't explain what drew me to this hapless hungry pair, but now they're characters in the game, ironically instead of the main characters they lost too. Go figure!
