Update 3/28/23: Plannings, Doings, and Ramblings

I've been busy hunting applying bugfixes to a number of things--nothing as gamebreaking as the circumstances of the initial 0.7 build, but stuff that certainly should be addressed, like dialogues/reactions not playing for some characters (Penny...) and the candy calorie multiplier going absolutely wild for a character (also Penny, somehow), or things like interactive objects "turning"/breaking when spoken to, NPCs that be repeatedly eaten, that kinda thing.  ...

FEF, build 0.7.0.1

EDIT: initial release was very VERY buggy, turns out!

I have since made a bugfix build, as there were issues across all three phases.  I recommend starting fresh again, just in case.  My apologies!


It's finally here!  After too much time, it's a new build.

Because of technology reasons, old saves will not work.  Accordingly, skips to Phases 2 and 3 have been provided.

Update 10/20/22: The Ham! (walkthrough)

Hey! I started a new job this month, and it's been a bit of an adjustment.  But it's a better job than my last one, so... I can't complain, even if the hours are less favourable!

Update 9/26/22: Building Phase 3

Yo! Build 0.6 (and change) seem to have been a successful launch without too many gamebreaking bugs (although I've been alerted to an exploit with charity that I need to look at), so now I begin my march towards what's next.

Update 9/19/22: At last, 0.6!

Ugh, man... I am so sorry for the silence!

What meant to be a quick one-week thing (traveling cross-country for family reasons) became an utter, exhausting, soul-draining little experience.
It took like a week and half to recover from that, and then other life things happened. That, and my ambitions beyond just bug-fixing what I'd put out turned the intended "put out untested 0.59, fix it to 0.6 a week or so later" into a, well, month-long difference.

update 8/13/22: build 0.57 alpha

Hey! Absolute apologies here.

Since my last update, things got a bit out of hand in my real life circumstances.

A sudden family emergency interrupted my planned schedule, and I was unable to fully implement some aspects... hence the build designation of 0.57, rather than 0.6.

Update 7/2/22: Downtown Beach, pt. 1

Long mentioned a while back, I showed off a beach map. And recently, I showed off a beach enemy, the Lifeguard... So, let's talk about the Downtown Beach, shall we?

Downtown Beach will be accessible by exiting Downtown City from the west-- it's located past Putnam Academy.

Hey there! It's been... Eight(?) days since 0.5 was released, and less since a slightly patched version came out fixing some of the MYRIAD bugs that occurred in my rush and crunch to meet a semi-arbitrary deadline I made for myself! Moral of the story: even in one's own, personal projects, crunch is bad. Don't encourage crunch time!

Update 2/27?8?/22: New Enemies 2

The area between the City map and the Suburbs, in the previous versions, were a weird multi-map corridor with a single fork leading to a minor event. I'm scrapping that and replacing it with a new, single-map road, with multiple forks/points of interest. Or at least two. Expa International's local facility will be accessible there, as well as a new local. It's not the least bit original, but hey... Everyone loves the Farm, right?

Update: 1/16/22: The Great Skill Overhaul

Man, bugtesting is hard.

Like, *hard*.

I've been busy this past week helping bugtest a friend's game, and it's given me a new perspective/appreciation for the, well, bug tests. And people trying unbalanced combat systems and enemy stats. You think you should be doing fine, and then you get one-shotted, and the feedback in rpgmaker, even with plugins, ain't great.

With that in mind, I'll probably go over my enemy database and fine-tune things a bit.

Update 10/26/21: Build 0.415 released!

Hey! Odds are you've seen this already, but if you haven't... Version 0.4 of Fatties Eating Fatties is out! Adding some more (sloppy) gameplay to the existing 0.3 build, 0.4 features some basic dungeon-crawling, a bill to be paid or ignored, the player joining a cult or an insurgency cell or blowing them both off, and a total of 7 potential fatties to recruit (and 1 hapless husband).

Update 10/18/21

Ver 0.4 is 'completed', and being tested!

This patch will end up being combat heavy, which is unfortunate because I... am not good at balancing that. At all.

HOWEVER

A lot of the systems have been refined and worked out, and I'm reasonably pleased with that, so theoretically I won't have to rebuild the skeleton a third time.
