Star Trek V: The Final Frontier

Comments

This movie had all the components for a good Trek movie but the execution was badly done.

The sound was A LOT better on this movie, as far as balancing you guys with the movie. The movie should be louder than you two, but of course you both need to be loud enough to hear as well. I'm probably a sound snob for even posting this, I apologize lol

The reaction vs movie audio levels are often a source of frustration for me in the watch-without-a-copy Cinebinge reactions but this one was particularly problematic as in quite a few places I just couldn't hear George or Simone at all. If I could make a suggestion: the film audio would benefit from heavy compression (a good 10dB of gain reduction at least), re-leveled, and then EQ and possibly further compression with side chain from George/Simone's vocal tracks to improve clarity.

I'm sure this has been said before but the Star Trek books are considered "Beta Canon", in that they aren't official canon with the shows and movies

After you finish the TOS era movies, you need to react to the Futurama Star Trek episode.

Completely useless trivia: “I expect that’s Klingon for hello”. Klingons do not have a word for hello. It is considered disrespectful to waste someone’s time with chit-chat and small talk. The closest thing to hello they have is nuqneH, which means “what do you want?” There’s also Qapla' which denotes the concept of success and is usually used as a conversation end. So either “good luck”, or “congratulations” or “let’s do this” But strictly speaking, hello and goodbye do not exist in Klingon
