BTW, a bit off-topic, but if anyone is unfamiliar with Cloud Atlas, then YES see the film. But, moreover, read the AMAZING David Mitchell book! What David Mitchell accomplishes with the structure, the Wachowskis attempt with the Repertory Cast. The novel, IMHO, is a full-on literary structural feat! It should be be said that David Mitchell worked with the Wachowskis on the script and has continued to work with them on other projects.

2025-11-05 13:42:38 +0000 UTCThis may be disingenuous of me since I can see how the numbers are trending 🙃… But maybe it would be good to do the top movie for each of the two Tom’s?

2025-10-28 21:07:28 +0000 UTCJust saw a story about a road incident that mentioned The Duel, and inspired me to suggest 3 good reaction-ready thrillers about trouble on the roads: The Duel (1971) -- Steven Spielberg's debut 4 years before Jaws. Amazing what a great director can do with a simple premise. The Vanishing (1993) -- Jeff Bridges, Kiefer Sutherland, and Sandra Bullock just before she got famous. Breakdown (1997) -- Kurt Russell mystery/thriller
