Great movie, but I liked it a whole lot better when it was called From Dusk til Dawn.

So I'm rewatching Crossroads, and a couple things jump out at me, one it's actually pretty good movie, and two, Willie Brown/Blind Dog Fulton, the actor is my favorite part of the movie, three, I never noticed before that the actor who plays Robert Johnson is TUVOK, from Star Trek Voyager, four, I really want to know how they got all the actors' fingers to match the music Because Ry Cooder plays all the blues guitar parts in the movie, and I'm not a great guitarist or anything but I know enough to be able to tell when someone is faking it, and somehow their hands are always at least pretty close to being where they should. Joe Morton is in it too, and Jami Gertz from Lost Boys, but the actor who plays Willie is my favorite for sure, I don't think I've seen him in anything else though. ...and (edit): five, it is an 80s movie but I am cracking up about Ralph Macchio's wardrobe, shoulder pads and a fedora 🤣 Six, Legpah, the version of Satan/Lucifer they have on this movie, this actor is probably in my top 5, along with Al Pacino and Viggo Mortenson, Peter Stormare, but this one is the coolest, it's very short, and understated, he only has a few lines, but he's both cool, and weirdly creepy, and a scary like I would not want to owe money to this guy let alone my immortal soul confidence to him, subtle but great acting imo. Fifth IDK, can't think of one at the moment, oh wait, South Park lol, man I feel like I'm missing someone though... Oh I think I'm thinking of Robert De Niro in Angel Heart but I've never seen it, just heard it's great.

Holy shit that was incredible. I had to wait until it dropped on a streaming app I already have so I'm way late because I'm a broke MF right now because (insert long story), but WOW. And it reminds me of at least three movies that I feel that Ryan Coogler had to have seen that inspired this absolute masterpiece of horror, one you've seen, one you haven't seen but I hope you do because it's also a great movie that I hold near and dear, and a third you'll probably never watch. One, From Dusk Till Dawn, just because of the crazy turn to vampires, but this was like "what if we make something like that but it's not just a gorefest in homage to low budget horror, and actually spend a lot of time fleshing out these characters?" Two, The Color Purple, it's an amazing movie about black folks in the South around this same time period, actually over a generation at least, very real, adapted from a novel, directed by Steven Spielberg (who initially turned it down because he believed it should be directed by a black director, saying he was a Jewish kid from California, why him, but Quincy Jones talked him into it, and it's a personal favorite of mine, such a tough but beautiful story). Three, Crossroads, not the Britney Spears bullshit, Ralph Macchio's only other role I know of besides Danielsan from Karate Kid and Cobra Kai (sorry I always forget he was in The Outsiders too). Crossroads is based on the legend of Robert Johnson, how he supposedly sold his soul to the Devil to be the best blues man ever, at the time (also the first in the 27 club, died of poisoning at 27 years old, the peak of his fame, but still influenced probably most of, if not all the popular music we still listen to). I love the Blues, since I was a kid, pops got me into it, and I love that lore, and the famous guitar duel at the end of the movie, with the Devil Himself watching, listening, taking the loser's soul, is fucking epic. I could go on, this was badass, but I talk too much.

You guys need to watch Fruitvale Station! Such a good film made by Ryan Coogler and staring Michael B Jordan.

Really cool in the end how he turned out to be to be the real Scratchedman Caruthers.

So there is a channel on Youtube called Morbid Zoo that does deep dives on the philosophy's of movies and movie franchises. All in all this movie has a lot in common with Fifteen Million Merits where there is soul or feeling that goes into music, however, since capitalism job is to make money so it will repackage that heart and soul over and over till it is completely soulless. The vampires or the parasites of the industry continue to suck its blood till everything that created the soulfulness is drained of it. My favorite video from Morbid Zoo is The Philosophy of Hellraiser. She gets into what motivates the creators and the themes that are being pushed by that entire franchise.

What a great movie and another amazing reaction. Totally didn't expect the vampire aspect from the original trailer but it was a clever juxtaposition, showing how evil humans can be but then having the vampires actually promoting love and community

Simone's face during sex scenes is priceless. Lol. She pretends to be so innocent on camera 😬

Jack O'Connell is such a fantastic actor, another great horror/thriller he starred in is Eden Lake (2008) . Please add it to future horror/thriller polls

It will never not be funny when George takes a drink from his giant barrel/stein in the middle of a sad or heartfelt scene.
