Kathryn has taken the lead, as we were heading into the College of Winterhold. Almost like she knew where she was heading, but this coincident would be unraveled soon enough.
Katy was bringing me up the big so called 'mages tower', stupid silly name if you ask me, and up the stairs to the library. And there I learned that I wasn't her first teacher.
"Kathryn!", the woman's voice nearly yelled at us, as we entered the library.
"Vic! Hey!", Katy answered with a big smile on her face, while hugging the blond woman that was coming towards us.
"How long has it been, ha?", the blonde asked.
"Four, maybe five years?"
"Yeah, not since you left us for those brutes at the dawnguard, ey? How have you been?"
"Brutes...?", I asked, not very thrilled as the both women were reunited after all this time. But the second I raised my voice, both of them were looking at me, and Katy slowly pushing me forward, to introduce me.
"Victoria, that's Garet. My dawnguard trainer. And.. ahm, Gareth this is Victoria, my old teacher.", Kathryn started to ease the situation. But the reason I forgot intently about the 'brute' was not Katys try, but Victoria herself.
As soon as Katy has pulled me forward, I was standing right in front of the blond mage. Her hair as golden as the autumn, and her eyes as blue as the sky above. And don't let me start about this cleavage of hers. I was shrunken enough to be on eye level with her chest, mostly because Victoria doesn't seem to be small in the first place. As she was giving me her hand for introduction, I was shivery. Did I was.. nervous? Goddamn, I fought trolls twice her size! Why I'm now scared? Or, was I really scared? Seeing this woman, looking down on my like this with a smile, was something different.
"Nice to meet you, Garet.", Victoria nearly whispered, as she seemed to have lost control also a bit. "Yeah, ahm... me too. Thank you for....letting us in!", I joke really, really badly. But you know what? Victoria doesn't seem to mind. She smiled even brighter after I looked up to her and our hands shaking, and shaking, and shaking...
It took a moment for both of us to get back together as the blond beauty was leading her eyes over to the small girl on her right: "And that's my new apprentice, Fiona. Fiona, say hello.”
“Hello.”, said the small girl that stood all the time at site.
“Don't mind her. She is bid dull at times.”, Victoria sighs as she shakes her head before looking again on Katy: “So, why are you here? Any Vampires to hunt, hu?”
“We have a problem and I tough you could help. Garet was in contact with some magical trap and now coughs and... well, shrinks while doing so.”, Kathryn explains while putting her hand on my shoulder like I was some sort of child.
“Ohhh. So... you are bigger normally?”, Victoria asked surprised while looking down on me again.
I only nod as an answer before Kathryn took over again.
“Are you still in oversight of the alchemist lab here? We probably could mix a potion that could help him.”
“Yes, of course I'm.”, the mage speaks while thinking: “Yes, maybe. But we have to do some test before that. So we don't make it even worse. We could start with these tomorrow morning, if that's okay for you.”
“It's late anyway. To sleep in a bed would be a nice for a change.”, Kathryn smiles exhausted.
“You both must be totally spent. Fiona, please, take them to the students house and give them a room.”
“Thank you, Vic.”
“That's nothing. We see us tomorrow.”, the beauty says, before smiling one more time down at me.
“You never told me that you were a mage-student.”, I said, as Katy and me were led by Fiona to the student's chambers.
“You don't seem to like them.”, she replied, before she added: “And the first time we meet you were raging about mages and that all of them are idiots, maniacs or even worse: vampires. That was not very encoring.”
“Oh. Ahm...”, I stumbled embarrassed before looking up to Katy with a excusing face: “I'm sorry. I never thought you ...”
“Ah, forget it. I'm not mad on you. You're a good guy. But also an idiot from time to time.”, she answered with a playful smile down to me.
“Yeah, probably.”, it escaped me relaxed, before we reached our target.
“We are here.”, Fiona explained, while pointing with her hand at one of the many doors here at the students chamber: “We have only one room left. There are many students this year. I hope you don't mind.”
But before I could thank the little girl, that was actually smaller than me, Katy pushed me into the room. She does so with ease while looking back on Fiona while telling: “Thank you. That's good for us. You can go now.”
“If you need me, you find me at the second stage of this building.”, Fiona replied shortly, nod and was gone the second she was told. Not very brave, but I can understand her now. You mostly don't argue with people a head taller than you. Especially when there are armed vampire hunters like Katy.
But there was something off about her. I mean Kathryn, not the Girl. As Katy was pushing me inside, there was something in her eyes. This nervous and tense look, while gently pushing me behind here, like she was protecting me for something. But before what?
“Everything right?”, I asked the moment Fiona was gone.
“Nothing.”, Kathryn said before closing the door: “I'm just exhausted. Let's get a rest.”.
