So much happened in a couple seconds on that cliff scene. Lan Zhan hanging on to Wei Ying, WY wanting to die, Jiang Cheng couldn't bring himself to kill WY so he stabbed the rock instead. The rock was going to break which would have made LZ fall, too - so WY let go to save LZ. It was A LOT.

Wuxian was resurrected by that crazy guy Mo Xuanyu and only Lan Zhan and Jiang Cheng know he's back so don't be confused. all these young disciples don't know him and the arrogant kid with a red dot on his forehead his nephew the orphan. moving forward it will be the present time
