That game was such a unique tactics game and had some crazy customization for the guns. Besides all that, the clothes and accessories were truly fire in that game. Who knew you could make Nolan North hot. Amazing voice cast vy the way. Also, I'm not a huge baseball fan but ever since the Dodgers won I've been going back and watching some old Ichiro and Ohtani clips.

Also Planet Coaster 2 is coming out the day after the election and it is the 6th best seller on Steam currently even though I don't see people talking about it online.

2024-11-06 00:08:57 +0000 UTCIn Dragon Age Veilguard, I thought it was an interesting note that Bellara functions basically like an FBC agent in Control and she has a vault of their version of AWE's, including the Cheese Wheel from Inquisition which functions as a shield. It ends up being a pretty small note, but in terms of storytelling, what do the Cohorts feel about weirdly powerful artifacts being referenced or even seen in games but then they are fenced off because "Oh, they're unstable/too dangerous"?

He's basically making Xbox live for pinball (achievements and all) and it's having a lot of strange effects on the community. Essentially no one wants to play games not connected anymore. If they can't get achievements or compare high scores what's even the point? Also George used to work at Midway. Pinball is in another golden age. If you and the gang could have any machine new or old what would it be?

Is it possible that Microsoft, through their aggressive acquisitions, forced Sony Playstation to acquire some teams that maybe didn't necessarily fit within their culture of studios? In other words, did Microsoft get the better end of the deals by adding some big studios, leading PlayStation into spending a lot of money on teams it wouldn't normally do business with? It seems as if the closure of Firewalk Studios and the money drain that Bungie currently is, isn't lining up with how PlayStation normally does business. What say you?

2024-11-05 22:16:49 +0000 UTCTry not to go into the game intending to look for various different creative ways to get across or solve puzzles. Just solve puzzles in the first way that comes to mind. The only exception to this rule would be boss battles. Each boss has ways for you to cheese in kinda sorta a Mega Man fashion. Personally, I enjoyed the game way more by putting the time into exploring every part of the map first before finishing the first “portion” of the game (when it asks you to go to 2 different locations). You get a massive catalogue of stuff to use, find Heart Containers and other bonuses along the way. Be sure to pin spots of curiosity to revisit. You do have a max limit of how many pins you can put on the map, but I never got close to the limit.

One mechanic of the game is that you are attacked in your base every night, and on a particularly vicious night I was assaulted by a hideous new monster and droves of zombie-like creatures. The intensity of the attack made me think the room had gotten darker and I could feel a cold wind blowing across my skin from the rush of adrenaline. After the encounter finally ended, I looked up to see that the room actually was pitch black and a cold wind actually was blowing through the open balcony door because I had just played through the 2017 summer eclipse while living near it's strongest point. Has real life and a game ever collided to produce a unique experience for you?

A developer bought the publishing rights to their game, took all the gross MTX out of it, and released it as a fully playable action game. I'm always expecting a slur-ridden tirade without notice, so why not turn it off pre-emptively? I realise I might be missing out on unique interactions with other players, but I don't feel like it's worth it, especially when pinging and non-voice communication features have come so far in recent years. I recently had a discussion with my mom about the impact and power of gaming after she saw the Netflix movie The remarkable life of Ibelin. She said it changed her perspective on how gaming can give you an opportunity to connect and escape from your reality. However, upon discussing it further, she continued to still believe that video games are very violent, do not have much substance and that gamers are not a welcoming community simply based on lack of coverage in the mainstream news. She also says that she feels there are not a lot of resources out there for people to be able to start gaming at a later age. I would love to hear the cohort perspective on how to show older and skeptical people the benefit of gaming and encourage them to participate in the hobby.

I’m getting over what I assume is salmonella poisoning because I tried one of those instant ramen hacks where you put an egg yolk in it. It tasted great, but definitely backfired (and won’t stop backfiring, unfortunately😔).

The clicking on the d pad of the stock Series X controller drives my partner crazy and the buttons on the duke wired controller are also quite thwacky. Also I just wanted to add that I was re-listening to the previous Thankful for Gaming episodes over the weekend as I was working on the largest independent pro wrestling show in Australia (shout out to Slam Pro Wrestling) and the jokes kept me going as I was driving all over town doing various tasks all weekend

Epic, EA, whatever UbiSoft is calling their launcher now half of the time make me re-log in and jump through associated multi-factor hoops if I so much as play a game on a different device once or don't launch the app for a few days. Steam? Just knows who I am and takes me right to my games without a fuss. Has a game being only on a different store dissuaded you from playing something just because the associated launcher was a hassle to get to?

Although it did win GOTY for a couple outlets back in 2014/2015, the general consensus around that entry seems more negative than positive. Personally, Inquisition is one of my favorite games of all time and got me thinking: What is your lowest scored/ reviewed game that’s in your top personal favorites or perhaps one that was extremely polarizing like Veilguard? Example: maybe #7 on your top 10 is The Bouncer for the ps2 (metacritic score of 66). Not mine, but it’s the most 6 game I could think of. Love the show!

I find myself playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and thinking how great small side quest moments are for characters and the overall themes and story... but then I wonder, is this just a lame small waste of time for some people? I'm at a point where I'm evaluating more for the overall and might not be able to judge the moment-to-moment stuff as well. How do you guys think about story, more to one than the other? Or can you do both?
