Happy New everyone! Over the last few weeks I’ve dedicated myself to completing Final Fantasy VI for the first time ever! Still haven’t finished it yet but I’m loving the game overall. A few days ago I made it though the much-praised opera house scene and despite the hype or maybe because of it, I found the entire sequence underwhelming. I’m hoping the cohorts might be able to provide some valuable context. Did this have hit better 30 years ago? Does the change in presentation for the pixel remasters have a bigger impact that it seems? What am I missing?
