No. It's themes are relevant to the series. The design was slightly... Unimaginative but overall felt necessary to conclude the story. Remove it then might as well remove the romulus name, scrap the kay character, and the black goo being in the movie. That'll cut more than 20 minutes and you have a movie with no climax and a much weaker through line narrative.

That's cool as well, I just know what symbolism they were portraying 😆

Wait.....maybe you already got that. Sorry

Reme in Hebrew is a reptile or fast moving creature

Big storm incoming MinnMax! Take shelter like for real!

I thought the final alien design was silly! Looked too much like a "scary" Avatar alien.

The last 20 mins were the best part!!

One thing I feel worth mentioning to give back some of that "headiness" you felt was missing: The symbolism of Romulus and Remes. The lab where the find the Z-01 formula is engraved with Romulus and Remes nursing from the She Wolf, which is the mythological origin story of Rome. Y'all suggest here that the goal is to make better workers, but Rook states the goal is as Weyland always intended, the advancement of humanity, to evolve humanity en masse, to nurse every human on the She Wolf's Milk aka Z-01. They believed they were engineering the next step in human evolution in that lab. They would have seen The Offspring as a remarkable success to be studied for decades in a Hojo of Shinra style lab next to Aerith's mom and Sephiroth. The Offspring actually would theoretically be a very similar origin story to Sephiroth, with Kay being Lucrecia. Oh, and as to why Kay injected herself, I think she was afraid she was having a miscarriage (and she also was probably feeling awful in general after being dragged across a ship by an alien and encased in goo), because I at least noticed that when she fell out of the ship, she landed hard on her abdomen. That's my theory on why, more or equal concern for her baby than herself. Also, Rook reminded me a LOT of The Red Queen from the first Resident Evil movie, especially with him being CGI and mostly communicating through radio and vid screens. Which, Umbrella corporation is a nearly identical entity to Weyland-Yutani.

For the cumminity: Yes or no: would you have cut the last 20 mins of the film? I would, I almost nodded off and it was 3 pm lol otherwise, a very good Aliens film
