My recommendation is this song by Russian avant-garde pop group Kolibri from the early '90s. I would write out the transliteration of the song title, but your head would explode before you even began to imagine how it is pronounced. Just kidding, it is called Nye Ryadom (roll that "R", I know you can do it Jason!) Like Kate Bush and Bjork, I feel they are al connected by some light theatrical elements inherent in the music, though the singers in Kolibri are admittedly much less talented vocalists. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alswjh_0498

It started with the “greatest video game music” albums but has since slid over to the 8-Bit Big Band. I like how they’re able to make each rendition their own and keep it fresh.
