MONSTERS [2x3] | EXTENDED REACTION

They get arrested! And life is rough. There's a lot of things in this episode that I feel like are controversial. Some untrue things? But things are finally starting to come to light in the end with the new lawyer. It still feels only like the beginning.

Give me a couple days to finally get out MaXXXine! Then we'll have some more IWTV & Monster to come!

MONSTERS [2x3] | EXTENDED REACTION

I like how yall got different opinions like me and my boyfriend do. I just joined so im not great at your names yet but the guy feels bad for the boys for sure and I can see him maybe wanting them to be released and the girl doesn’t feel any remorse for these boys. Idk how I feel about it bc I want these boys to be released so bad. Like I pray for them to be. I think they served there time and just a shame that’s a whole family was monsters if you think about it. But I believe they should be out.

yeah ik pretty sure he learned it all from his wife but i can see where he’s coming from about the show and

Kaylee Cheatham

I dont mind Ryan showing different perspectives but it wasn't tasteful it felt exploitative .

I also heard that Eric can't watch it so I'm curious as to what he would think of it like that

Lyle testified at trial to assaulting Erik when they were children. He said when they were around 7 and 5, he would use objects to assault Erik. And he apologized to Erik on the stand for doing it. The part the brothers and wives didn't like was any "hints" of them having any sort of sexual/romantic relationship, especially as teenagers and adults. What Lyle did to Erik as a kid was just an abused child mimicking the behavior on someone else, it did not mean they had an incestous relationship of any sort.

Dudes inspired Friends, Shawshank Redemption and She-Hulk?

Thoroughly enjoying these reactions, excited for the next one. 🌟

In the real courtroom footage, they do talk about the sexual abuse by their father. I think them saying that Lyle abused Erik was an issue of contention from the brothers and wives. The only people who truly knew what happened are dead and the brothers. Wives can have an opinion, but they don’t truly know. As always, love your reactions

i don’t know if you guys want to check it out now or when you finish the show but the real erik made a statement about the show and feeling about it. and ryan murphy responded to his claims.

Kaylee Cheatham

OMG there's no room service in this jail. 🤭

The main thing with the portrayal of especially Lyle though is that throughout the entire show he’s acting loud, wild, maniac, comical and psychopathic. When you see just a single testimony of him at trial he seems to be well spoken, calm and collected. Of course you can argue that it’s obviously what he’s gonna portray himself like in court and I agree BUT nevertheless many different people who knew him have said about that while he might’ve been domineering and acted authoritarian in friend groups and such, he was rather collected and acted level headed. And there is not a single statement or evidence about him cursing all the time, being rude to kids or waitresses etc. and just acting plain crazy, that’s literally what he was coached the opposite of by his father, to not show much emotion and act reasonable. Also he did not do drugs, that’s been stated before and makes sense since he was literally a nationally ranked tennis player. 💀 He wasn’t even an avid drinker; preferred wine coolers. Anyway while I understand Ryan Murphy tried to implement different theories and perspectives to fully cover this story, he literally completely assassinated Lyles personality throughout the entirety of the show which is not fair.

I was born the year it happened and I had only heard about it but watching this definitely opened my eyes quite a bit

I was like, a baby when all this happened & my only strongest prior reference was from 30 Rock when Tracy was worried about his kids Menendez-ing him. Which is to say, this has been wild thus far & I'm super overly invested in you all watching (this thirty something year old situation)
