I've not much to say about this one - but I recently met Miranda Raison (she played Tallulah, the dancer); and got her autograph. She is an exceptionally beautiful woman!

2022-05-21 22:42:47 +0000 UTCI only just realised that Martha's "and I'm telling you I'm not going!" is the song from the musical Dreamgirls. So it's Martha who likes musical theatre. I probably didn't know the song when this story was first broadcast and I have not watched it many times since. I agree that part two was a lot better than part one but I think the dalek/human looked ridiculous. Hardly the best of both species either. The Daleks get by with one eye because it's like a little telescope and it swivels around. Just having one ordinary eye in the middle of your forehead is a bit limiting! I know that's not a big part of the plot but it has always bugged me. I love the guy from Hooverville though. You know his attempts to make peace are doomed but at the same time his speech to the Daleks is pretty stirring. It should have worked except for the fact that he made it to the Daleks! The developing story of Martha and the doctor is kind of sad. She's really clever and brave and deserves more appreciation but he can't just forget his feelings for Rose.
