It at least shows they've acknowledged their conflict and a possibility of growing past this later. Honestly, this whole chapter was so fun! I love seeing Sue's impulsive side like this! For all her careful planning and mature attitude, she's still a go-getting teenager. I really wish I had her moxie when I was her age!

This effectively shows they're going to drift apart and not have much to say about the person they used to know. That's a little sad when you're friends. But it is very realistic and relatable. I know I had friends that were basically only around for certain things. Like just so they wouldn't be alone at lunch. Or if they struggled with a specific assignment and knew I excelled in it.
