Figure Drawing: Week 8

THIS IS THE LAST SESSION I WAS ABLE TO DRAW ON MY SKETCHBOOK. WE HAVE REACHED A COOL MILESTONE. This session was on Thursday, and I normally do sessions on Tuesdays. My therapist came back from a month-long vacation so I have to go out on Thursdays again, so I thought.. maybe I should do life drawing on Tuesdays AND Thursdays as well? Here’s the result of the first Thursday!

Ignore the guy on the left, he was from the previous session. THAT’S HOW MUCH I WAS RUNNING OUT OF PAPER, I had to jump to a previous session and find extra space to start this :-[

the guy lied on the floor and i was trying to consolidate space, as I knew I was going to run out before this session would end :-[ HE DID SO MANY 1-MINUTE POSES.

A group of 2s

here’s the 5s! Again I did that “grinding the charcoal against the paper on its side” for some quick shading.

And here’s the 10s! I really liked the sitting pose on the left, apart from the foot.

20-minute. Tried to apply a method I read about where instead of drawing lineart on the lit up areas, you shade around it? Ehh

Back to the 2s

The interesting thing about this session is that the 40 minute pose was spread into 2 DIFFERENT 20-minute poses. That isn’t the norm, but here we are.

I liked the way the 20-minute pose looked that I actually stopped drawing prematurely. I just wanted to leave it as is, and I didn’t want to overdo anything, as doing that in the past bit me in the ass :-[

I RAN OUT OF PAPER!!! so I used the back of the sketchbook to draw this final one. Not the best material to use hahahahaha, oH WELL. this was such a good pose as well! I tried to apply lighting methods to.. apathetic results. But hey, it’s practice!

AND THASSIT. See you next week!!
