I've never had a crush on one of my friend's boyfriends, but one of them had a crush on me. I was always the quiet one in high school so I never really got much attention from guys, which was fine because dating in high school always seemed like too much drama, but during my Sophomore year the boyfriend of one of my friends confided in me that he wasn't happy in the relationship and he didn't know how to break up with her and that he liked me. I was going through a lot at the time (my Papa had passed away a few months before that) and I am Autistic so I COMPELTELY missed his meaning when he said he liked me and thought he just meant he liked talking to me because I was willing to listen. I just told him to be honest with her since they both deserved to be happy and didn't give it much more thought. A few weeks later my friend (E) called me and said they broke up because he (X) wanted to go out with me. I talked to X after that and told him that I didn't want to hurt E so I wouldn't even consider dating him unless she was okay with it. She ended up getting back together with a previous boyfriend (J) and said she was fine with it and gave me her blessing and I believed her and started dating X. Turns out that E wasn't actually fine with it and turned into a psycho and tried to choke me out for "stealing her guy" while she was dating J but I guess she wanted both guys?? Again, High School is so overly dramatic. She and J ended up breaking up after High School and doing their own things but me and X stayed together and we are STILL together after almost 18 years. It was definitely a messy start but we are happy and he fits in with my family better than I do lol.
