Matt Bomer guest stars as Blaine's brother Cooper, who is straight in the show while Blaine is gay. IRL, however, Matt Bomer is gay and Darren Criss is straight. Cooper has the same names as journalist and TV personality Anderson Cooper, just reversed. This ep. aired on the same day as National Sibling Day in the U.S. In 2015, Matt Bomer won a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Emmy for playing a closeted gay writer in the AIDS related TV movie The Normal Heart, directed by Ryan Murphy and co-starring Mark Ruffalo & Jonathan Groff (Danny watched it on his channel a while back). He also appeared on a couple of seasons of American Horror Story (not sure if Danny has watched those). The song young Blaine is dancing to in the flashback is MMMBop by Hanson. Darren Criss is a massive Hanson fan and in 2013 "crashed" a random rehearsal during a live stream. In the scene where the glee club is rehearsing the scene from NCIS, Lea's wrist tattoo is visible. When Quinn first appears and says to Rachel "Don't, don't", she moves her legs as she puts her hands on them. Non-seniors such as Artie, Rory, Sugar, Tina and Sam take part in the Senior Ditch Day.

During the roller coaster scene, Finn’s yells “I can see the tire shop!” and the characters reactions were the actors breaking character. Matt Bomer was very impressed by Darren’s singing, dancing, and acting skills when working together. This episode was partly written by Michael Hitchcock, the same guy who plays the deaf choir couch who had scarlet fever.
