Man this really felt like a series finale

Kristin Baylor

Awww, we miss you Wawa 🐾 ❤️ Thanks for this reaction. 🤩

Koko

Ive seen half the first episode. thats about it hahah

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

That’s the person Gwyneth Paltrow was teaching the Animal Husbandry club about before Party All The Time. She’s a veterinarian and animal rights advocate with autism but she’s extremely ableist and pro-eugenics, so not someone the autism community looks up to . Also Gwen’s dialogue and mannerisms in that scene was kind of belittling to people with autism

Shani Gribben

whats the Temple Grandin scene?

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I really could have done without the Temple Grandin scene cause she was a horrible person and that scene was just kind of offensive to autistic people but I loved the rest of the episode

Shani Gribben

Despite Friends not having anything related to music you should totally watch it!!

Leslie Montalvo

I second this comment! I can't believe she hasn't watched Friends!

Michaela Evans

Yep, all gone! It's even discussed at length in her autobiography "Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes, and Growing Up" to which she recorded the audiobook herself as well.

Jennifer Sauer

oooh please please do a watch party for FRIENDS! Yes, it's long but that just means more content and you'll definitely have a loyal audience with walk 😜 through it with you!

Jennifer Sauer

Yes that is correct. She was fully recovered from it for years by that time. She said it was only for about a year and that she realized she didn’t want to be that kind of sick and she got help right away.

Aleshia Bernal

shhhhh! :(

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

So she no longer had an eating disorder while filming Glee?

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I agree!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

its here :)

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Yea it seemd real from Lea and not acting at that moment

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Yea we thought they would know it for sure... but nope

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Oh thats riiight! Her dads loved that show. WHat a loooog ago refference! This is why Im thinking we should start this show over once I finish. I'll catch so much more

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

I reacted to Hold On by CHORD during a ive song reaaction in May I believe was the date

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

That industry would for sure promote and encourage an eating disorder. So sad but true

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

it did win the poll but it didnt equal that I would watch it. I need to get info from my Patrons and then decide with other polls on YT and elsewhere info. Dreamgirls simply isnt popular enough as a whole so its been put a little furtheer down the list

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Yea it's nice to see Raschel develope in a more positive light

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

no sleep for you!

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Yea Dani has gone into the Glee void

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

yea i didnt feel as attached to the new cast

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

hahaha! Funny what the mind keeps and dumps

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

acting at it's best

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

hahah Nude Erections should have stayed

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Side note: 20 episodes left.

DoctorNightshade

Something I have always loved about the version of “Don’t Stop Believing” from this episode is that each member of the Glee Club enters in the order in which they joined. Such a great little touch.

DoctorNightshade

I just want to say a few things here real quick. You keep mentioning that Naya seems to be getting thinner and thinner. But honestly she has been extremely thin the entire series. It’s just that in the first three seasons she almost always wore a cheer uniform that when wearing it gives a somewhat illusion of being wider. If you go back and look you will see what I mean. Also she had a little more “baby fat” in her face then too so it goes with the illusion. Also I’ve seen mention by others in here that she had an eating disorder so I just want to inform you that she is very clear that that happened while in high school and she was fully recovered by the time she ever was a cast member on glee. I hope you see this message since I know you’re probably traveling.

Aleshia Bernal

Yea, Rachel sings Cory’s part in this Don’t Stop Believing. Wow, that’s tough. Must’ve been really hard for her.

Georgia Beauchemin

This episode always makes me so nostalgic and sad. Hearing Cory’s voice in that last scene also Don’t Stop Believing without him is difficult. Kurt’s voice was so deep in the song which was cool. God, I love this show!

Georgia Beauchemin

Cool, and same i'm so excited

E__0

I love this episode! And it makes me so nostalgic everytime they bring Quinn back! I think it’s a crime that we didn’t get more Dianna Agron solos! 🥲

Samir

I asked a couple of days and Audrey said Saturday ☺️ so must be anytime today….can’t wait haha

Samir

He does an acoustic version where he explains though doesn't specifically name him that Hold On is about Cory and an ex of his. She reacted to that version and the replay was posted on May 1st

Jay Johnston

I completely forgot about the video for Schue’s unborn child and I broke. I’m here bawling my eyes out and with it being the final class…damn it 🤣 Can’t wait to see what you think of the last Half of season 5

Zach Davis

Just wondering, when in August is Mamma Mia 2 going to be posted?

E__0

Oh really wow!

m

I’m so thankful I found your reactions cause it means I get to see someone else experience the magic of glee it’s one of my favourite shows and the messages in it are so beautiful. I feel so bad for Lea her face when puck and Quinn were singing thinking about Cory just so sad and it just doesn’t feel right without Cory he just should have been there for all of this and just hearing his voice makes me sad.

Jake Sullivan

That they didn't know 'Don't Stop Believing' when you sang it must have been an odd one out, right? At least the chorus must have been known? When I was at Lollapolooza a few years back there was a karaoke corner and when this song came on everyone this side of the festival grounds was singing along. And I mean everyone. It must have been at least 200 people hanging around that part of the grounds and more got attracted by the singing crowd. So at the and end the crowd had easily doubled and they were all screaming the lyrics from the top of they lungs. It was amazing.

Viola.S1

I guess because I always cry during DSB that I have always missed Will looking up, lol. I didn't know it was a thing until reading all these comments.

Jennifer Lawrence

Patrick if your comment is towards me then I don't see how what I said is a spoiler. All I said was that you see Jake and Ryder briefly in the last number of the series. I didn't say what the song was, what they were doing in the song or anything that gave away future plot.

Jay Johnston

Of all the new glee club members, I wish they would’ve kept Jake on or brought him back later. I also think he was the most talented one of the new members in terms of complete package and it would’ve been cool if he became the new male lead of glee club.

Benjamin Smith

I really miss Marley and others newbies. It was so unfair that they didn't have 1 performance in these two episodes. As much as some people treat them badly, they were an important part of the show. Season four Marley is one of the most important characters, and has been completely erased. We all know that the newcomers' story arc was with Finn, but they should have stayed on the show. As for Melissa going to Supergirl, she first learned that she wouldn't be returning to the show, and she was already being underused, so she went to auditions, which was good for her, but bad for anyone who liked her character on the show. Well, for me episode 13 is the best ending to glee

Mr Filipe

Oh shit that’s right! Why did I think Lea started the original 🤦🏻‍♀️ lol

SuBin Kim

https://youtu.be/SVvuwF3R4aA Chord wrote this song and performed it live a week after Cory's death, but he never officially released it. I think it's called War. And yes, she watched a live performance of Hold On which is also about Cory AND someone he was in a relationship with who also dealt with addiction.

Heida

Lea sang Cory's part actually and Chris sang Lea's part

Heida

Tina's F.R.I.E.N.D.S./C.H.U.M.S. dream is even funnier if you remember that Rachel said in an episode in S1 that she was named after Jennifer Aniston's character because her dads really loved the show. And I know it doesn't have much music in it but I would be down for Friends watch parties! Total Eclipse of the Heart was supposed to be sung by Will and April but, while it was featured on the album, it was cut from the episode. You can listen to it here: https://youtu.be/X9pQC90Kmmo. The Don't Stop Believing performance with Rachel singing Finn's opening line and Will looking up at Finn, along with Will's final scene in the choir room with Finn's voice in the background never fail to make me cry. I love all the performances in this episode but especially DSB and the slow version of Loser Like Me. The song Rachel and Santana sang is Be Okay by Oh Honey. I personally liked it. And I thought Puck (and Quinn) sounded great in Just Give Me A Reason, which is by P!nk and Nate Ruess from the band fun. Holly sounded better than ever in Party All The Time and I think they did good with Kurt & Mercedes on I Am Changing. I was just missing one final song from the S4 newbies, especially since most of them don't come back except for the finale (except for Marley which means this is her last ever appearance on the show). The remainder of S5 is all in NY but without spoiling much S6 (which is shorter) goes back to Lima. Kitty is the only regular of the S4 newbies and Unique is recurring. Then there's new characters and the OGs of course.

Heida

i thought it was rumoured to be about Cory, not confirmed :o there is however a song he wrote (which i cant think of the name rn) and its on youtube, sadly never released, only a live version :c

Patrick Rivera

really not hating but i didn't feel this reaction at all😅 i don't know, you felt kinda not in it (which is ok, you have a lot going on atm) BUT you were talking over Kurts deep voice in Don't Stop Believing and Wills look up to the sky. :( I was so looking forward to seeing your reaction to those moments. And this is the first time I heard someone say they don't like the name New Directions. It's iconic😂 Anyway, cute episode. I definitely cried again, at DSB and the end with the voices in an empty choir room😭 I was kinda sad that we didn't get a song from the new members as this was the last time we see them all together

Patrick Rivera

spoiler (i think)

Patrick Rivera

She reacted to that in one of her streams where she reacts to requested songs. It was a while back, can't remember when exactly, lol.

Jennifer Lawrence

Listen to Hold On, it’s Chords song, you will probably absolutely bawl though (I do everytime I listen to it)

Sophie R

I love this episode a lot, the songs are great. I love Dianna’s voice, Just Give Me a Reason is such a cute song imo. Naya and Rachel’s duet is Be Okay by Oh Honey, a song I really like tbh. I think Rachel sings Finns lines in don’t stop believing in this episode because I’m pretty sure he starts the song (I may be wrong though), and Mr Shue looks up when Kurt starts singing to remember Cory. Naya was quite open about struggling with an eating disorder throughout her life, she spoke about it a lot in her book and in an interview once. I don’t know if you have, but if you haven’t, you should check out some of Chord Overstreet’s (Sam) music, he wrote a song dedicated to Cory and it’s really sweet. I actually had it in my playlist before I’d ever seen glee, and I listened to it in a whole new way after. I always get a little sad at the end with all the voices in the choir room :(

Sophie R

Will does a little look to the sky when Kurt sings "just a city boy" and that was a little thing to honor cory

megan vickers

So a couple of my thoughts from this episode that I had back when it first aired. I really wish they would have stuck entirely with all the songs being re-done versions of past numbers instead of doing new songs. There was a cut song of April and Will doing a duet of Total Eclipse of the Heart while doing a field trip to a planetarium I believe with the new glee club members. The song was released and I think they filmed it but it got cut. Also I believe originally the plan was for Holly to sing Dog Days Are Over but got changed to Happy or Party All the Time, not sure which one replaced it. I think a big missed opportunity was not having the new cast sing at all. Felt like we should’ve at least gotten one more song with all 5 of them singing one last time. This is the last time we see Marley and without giving too many spoilers, we will see the other 4 again in some capacity. As for the OG cast like Quinn, Puck, Tina, etc. we will see them again at some point in the future too. I am glad we finally got a duet with Quinn and Puck but at the same time I feel like Just Give Me a Reason would’ve been a much better duet with her and Sam vocally. I still like her and Sam together over Finn and Puck. Still upsets me how they broke Quinn and Sam up and the reason why they did it. Such a lame excuse. This is my favorite DSB performance because they had all the former (OG) and current members together for the first time.

Benjamin Smith

One thing i will say, Naya was very open about having an eating disorder that she struggled with her whole life. Thats more than likely why she seems smaller this season than the previous ones

Have you heard Amber sing I Am Changing on the Dreamgirls West-End soundtrack? I’m sure you would enjoy it! I think there’s also a couple of live performances! Speaking of, is a Dreamgirls watch party coming? I can’t remember how well it did in past polls or if someone requested it.

I Am Not Chamari

Agree! New New York is actually my current favorite episode! It’s nice to get a break from HS glee club drama and focus more on adult things like college, career, and maturing relationships. Only wish Tina was there. ☹️

Selma Jabr

Without much spoilers, it focuses on NY with most of the OG cast for the rest of this season but goes back to Lima by s6. As for the rest of your questions, it’s too complicated to answer so it’s best if you just watch. You’re right about the views thing. It was dropping after the Quarterback episode so I think focusing just on the og characters was the smart move. About the episode, I really like it! It has my 2nd favorite DSB cover, aka the only one were Tina sings and Will singing with them in a non-creepy way. And I actually prefer this version of Loser Like Me over the s2 one. I agree with you about Jake. He definitely is one of the best voices in the show and certainly underrated. Tho I don’t know what the actor is doing now. Another thing I liked was how Rachel was the 1st one to swallow her pride and extend an olive branch to Santana. It was a great mature moment from her and her offer was more than what Santana deserved. Finally, the moment with Mercedes using Kurt’s knee as a drum was most likely Chris and Amber breaking character/improvising. And hearing Finns voice at the end always puts me in tears.

Selma Jabr

just wanted to add that in this episodes performance of don't stop believing, naya accidentally elbows darren in the head and it's the funniest thing ever i find myself waiting for it every time i watch

Jasmine Lambert

The song Santana and Rachel did was 'Be Okay' by Oh Honey

Jay Johnston

yes Naya is a professional and lea . wow love these last episodes .

Linda

I re-listen to this version of Just Give Me A Reason alllll the time because Dianna sounds so good in it. I hate how much they wasted her voice on the show.

Megan Christina

I really love it! it's more realistic especially with the couples

Gigi

You see Jake and Ryder again very briefly for the very last number of the show

Jay Johnston

I may be in the minority but I love the rest of the episodes in season 5. I liked some of thr new cast but for me Glee is the original cast and the rest of the season focuses on them. And any time I get to see more of Amber/Mercedes makes me happy.

Veronica _R_T

I giggle every time I watch this performance. “Bonk” right in the temple.

Annie Willow

i just finally caught up and finished episode 12 and told myself i was going to sleep (it's 3am here) but then i refreshed the page and this was here!! i'm so glad because it's hard to watch these two episodes with a break in between

Jasmine Lambert

This episode makes me so sentimental. I honestly love that Brittany calls Santana out on her crap about Broadway. Santana never wanted to be on Broadway but she did see an opportunity to do something other than wait tables and took it. It’s just that Rachel and Santana both took that vendetta too far. Santana was spiraling out of control and Brittany lost who she was at MIT and all it took was each other to bring them back. Brittany said she was the foremost expert in the field of Santana Lopez but Santana is also the foremost expert in the field of Brittany Pierce. Dani and Sam could never compare. Also I’m just assuming that Santana broke up with Dani at some point between last episode and this one or she just ghosted her because Dani was so cool with kicking Santana off of Pamela Lansbury. Or she just simply forgot about her existence in her Brittany haze. I would have. 🤷‍♀️

Annie Willow

I gotta say, for some reason this Don’t Stop is my favorite rendition. Also my favorite background moment happens during the song. Right before Darren goes to sing his part, Naya accidentally elbows him in the head and is apologizing mid scene. It’s just super cute and once I saw it I see it every time

Saraah

I really can't believe that we've made it to this point in the show! For some perspective, it was almost a year before we got Season 6 after Season 5 ended. The rest of Season 5 was alright, but this was such an emotional 13th episode (I mention this because the shows seasons were always divided into the "front 13" and the "back nine"). I don't want to spoil, so I won't mention what will happen with the S4 sophomores. The good news is that we have New York ventures yet to be had!

Lauren Obeng

Oh that's right!! i guess originally they'd have the focus on the new characters at McKinley but without Finn it obviously wouldn't work and it would've been weird without they og characters tbh

Gigi

Also remember that the writers also had to rewrite a lot of stuff and make new storylines because they were probably originally going to put a lot of focus on Finn and his journey into becoming a teacher and his relationship with Rachel

SuBin Kim

New York time!!! You can't really blame the writing or ratings for the change in story, the seniors had to graduate and they'd already dragged out there senior year across two seasons lol. The glee club wouldn't work without any og members so they ended it. And yep that's the end for Marley, Jake and Ryder i'm pretty sure you don't see them again.

Gigi

Also you missed it but in Don't Stop Believing it was Chris (Kurt) who sang Cory's (Finn) part in a deep voice. And when Chris was singing Cory's part, you also missed this moment, Matthew Morrison looked up which was his way of looking up at Cory

SuBin Kim

I will say this episode and the last episode are a couple of my favorites of the second half of the show (season 4/5/6). The writing was so much better than most of the other episodes lol

Audrey Lee Strohm

not even really frenemies since Naya literally said in her book at this point Lea was giving the silent treatment to her so that's not even frenemies

SuBin Kim

Honestly I like when the show moves cus I would always want the main characters to get more screen time, don’t get me wrong I liked the new class but ig I didn’t get as attached, but yeah glee def went downhill

m

I have absolutely no recollection of the second half of season 5 so I’m excited to see what happens next 😂

Audrey Lee Strohm

Yeah but I also heard they were like freniemies at this time in real life, def cus of the show writing always putting them against each other also they kinda a lot like their characters irl sometimes

m

I still think its amazing that Naya and Lea were able to shoot these scenes since Naya said at this point they really didn't get along and that Lea never talked to her by this point in the show

SuBin Kim

The joke about the name New Directions was that it sounds like Nude Erections lol. It's funnier in the first season when the show was seen more satirical than later seasons
