I can't find Ep. 9. Did it get taken down?

Amanda Johnston

was she going through that in reel life?

Audrey McDonald ( Songs From A Suitcase)

Another great show that shows Post Partum Depression and is a musical show is Nashville. I thought they did such a great job showing it but it was also heartbreaking because at the time that was filming and being aired the actress (Hayden Panettiere) was also going through Post Partum Depression.

You have 12 & 13, then the movie - this was a fun episode, can't wait for you to watch the movie!

Post partum does vary from mild baby blues to severe depression. I think the level of despair she was feeling in the show was a result of trying to take it on alone and not let people in. I've seen it be nothing more than a few tears over commercials all the way to the point of mommies refusing to even hold their baby out of fear they aren't good enough moms. When she said in the episode she thought the baby might be better without her I Lost it. That was heart breaking. **not a medical professional, just thoughts and experiences...

I work as a Nursing Assistant in the Maternity unit. One of the things we teach to new parents are the signs of Post Partum Depression. We also talk about how the Baby Blues is very common and happens to most people this usually lasts about two weeks so if its longer we tell people to talk to their OB about it so they can get the help and resources for it. We also have new moms fill out a Post Partum screening as well to help with it. Will you be doing a watch party for the Christmas movie as well? It's really good and I highly recommend it.

Fair enough.

I gotta say, before watching this EP first, I never heard of postpartum depression. Neither did my sister and a few other people in my life who have kids. so maybe it is not THAT well known. but i also live in germany so maybe its just more known in america? i dont know and she's gonna react to the movie, Audrey's editor already confirmed it. :) but yea i hope she realizes there's one more episode this season😂

This episode’s treatment of postpartum depression really bugs me in a couple of ways. First of all, it’s a pretty well known condition, so much so that it should have been obvious to Zoey as soon as she heard Emily sing at the end of Episode 9. Emily and David should have been briefed on it thoroughly prior to Miles’s birth. It shouldn’t have been a mystery. Second, Simon should have been completely understanding about the seriousness of this. After all, he was introduced to us as a person grieving his father who killed himself. And sorry, I just got to the part when you said you had never heard of it because you don’t have kids. So, I do have kids and it was drilled into me to watch out for it before and after my kids were born. But I also first learned about it well before I had kids. I remember there being a big news story about a woman that had been suffering from it for years until it had gotten so bad that she killed her children. So yeah, it’s serious stuff. On another note, there are actually two more episodes. It’s an episode longer than the first season. And then there’s the Christmas special which is watchable online on the Roku channel, free for everyone, last I checked.

The reaction was awesome even with the chaos. I think it made you focus even more than usual. Thanks for the early upload. It was a nice distraction from the flooding rains outside due to this massive storm in the US to welcome Christmas weekend. Have a wonderful holidays.

sounds like a good job haha

Got an hour left of work for 2022 & there's nothing to really do so maybe I'll watch while "working" 😂
