Ok, so I really like the oldies, but that's mainly because growing up in Israel I was limited to whatever was either superb enough to be translated into a stage version (not many) or what my parents knew of from Hollywood (which meant I grew up with "The Pajama Game" (1954), but did not see "How to Succeed in Business Without Even Trying" until Schmigadoon pointed me in that direction.. ) As an adult I did a subscription to BroadwayHD which meant I now knew even more obscure musicals no one saw ("Daddy Long legs", anyone??) - so I'm just going to write some fun ones here, because I am having fun going down memory lane (refraining from things you've already reacted to).
- Oklahoma! (can't get you to do a 3 hour watch party of the 1999 London production with Hugh Jackman, right?) basically anything from that show, but the song "O What a Beautiful Morning" has always been an uplifting nice experience for me and even though Jackman is amazing, there's a pop version with our boy Jeremy Jordan which is absolutely heartwarming

"Dead Girl Walking" - Heathers
I actually think this musical is very problematic, but it's kind of meant to be that way..? anyway the songs are really good and nowhere is it better displayed by Ryan McCartan (the original JD) himself singing Dead Girl Walking as JD in the pronoun show

Chicago (film version) - basically anything in it is amazing, but my favorite is "We Both Reached For the Gun" - my brother and I would start singing "Understandable...comprehensible" whenever the other would explained something really ludicrous

"I Hate Man" - Kiss Me, Kate
This is from a concert/performance of the london production stage version, it was filmed for the BBC, so not a bootleg

"Loneliness of Evening" - Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella
The best version of this musical in my opinion is the 1997 Disney adaptation with Whitney Huston - but sadly this song (which is my favorite) was cut from it.

"Seven and a Half Cents" - The Pajama Game
Done by Seth Macfarlane, which is why I choose that one specifically, instead of "I'm not at all in love" - which is my most quotable perhaps. He has an amazing voice, which sadly not enough people talk about.

Aaaaaand I'm cutting myself off because this is already a manifesto..

Hands down "The Sound of Music". I've been known to burst into "My Favorite Things" whenever it's raining.. and my friends and I usually have to be silenced when we're rewatching the film (again) with someone who's never seen it before.. This summer I had the pleasure of introducing the movie to two friends from Germany, who because of the obvious subject matter, have never heard of it, they were both delighted with it, despite the obvious sigh when a certain flag appeared..
Since I know this is probably not what you were looking for - here's a video a that's "Musicals Adjacent". I listen to it every once in a while when I miss a good musical laugh of Kristin Chenoweth singing "Taylor the Latter Boy"
Sorry for the low quality, it's still the best _performed_ version of this I could find
