I know Rachel is a huge brat, and she is more pushy about getting solos than everyone else, but half of the ND are as selfish as her, and the others are actually worse! Just because they are not as vocal about their selfishness, their actions scream it louder than Rachel's.
That moment when Quinn said she will fake what she needs to get custody of Shelby's daughter (not to mention her out of line and 100% false statement that Shelby is not Beth's daughter) makes me dislike Quinn even more, and the correct reaction to her statement is not "its not about faking it" instead utter disgust and outrage that Quinn is so horrendously selfish she wants to take Beth from Shelby (her real mother) just so she can feel better about herself!

I will never forgive Artie and Coach Bieste for laughing at Kurt! Artie was in the ND for two years, he was there when Kurt sang Mellencamp in lower key than the original, he was there when Kurt won Nationals for Cheerios, he knows he can sing AND dance- Sue wouldn't let him be a Cheerio otherwise...more than that he was supposed to be his FRIEND! As for Coach Bieste saying he is too much of a lady, when in Season 2 (episode 6) she was made fun of and being used as a "cool down" material she should know better than to judge people based on their gender or looks...I am so dissapointed :(

@Turnip Crazy Yes, I would love if she would react to A very Potter musical!!! Darren Criss was the reason I started to watch Glee in the first place haha

Next episode is the start of some great stories, songs, and future character development. Season 3 in my opinion includes the most songs and stories from all of the members of the Glee club and spreads out the songs between characters more as S1 and S2 were the rachel and finn show

You know this episode really made me want Audrey to do a watch party watching the first A Very Potter Musical. Yeah it's not amazing quality, but it's well acted and Darren Criss sings really well. Prefer the second musical for his vocals but you have to start with the first one. Plus she can upload the whole watch party with screen on youtube. She wouldn't necessarily need commercials. I know she can do that because Starkid doesn't care much about copywrite once they release it on youtube.

Yep. I think they could've achieved more with that storyline if they'd had Kurt do a more convincing audition. He can sing lower so definitely could have tried a Tony song, and that way it would have shone a bigger light on the issue of 'passing'. As it was, they made him look silly and like he knows nothing about acting, so of course Blaine is the better choice. And it makes it less convincing that he would get into performing arts school. A missed opportunity in my opinion, it would've been interesting for him to have given as good an audition as Blaine and still not get the part.

I liked The Greatest Star, but does anyone else feel like it's a terrible audition song when trying to get the role of Tony?

Counterpoint. While I love Quinn, she did need to grow up. It wasn’t just the Mercedes thing, but the fact that she tried to blame him and Glee for ruining her life when she had done that herself. Some people will crumble from saying that, but for others, it’s exactly what they need. No one was ever real with Quinn. Everyone in the club aside from Rachel and Finn helped her conceal the paternity of her baby instead of owning up to her lies. That whole club did their best to help her through the pregnancy and she repaid them by creating the Glist. Quinn needed someone to tell her she was the only one who could pull herself up.

They also forgot that Shelby was just a surrogate and egg donor who responded to an ad by Rachel’s dads instead of someone who got pregnant and put her baby up for adoption.

yeah that's funny but it's like Mike is supposed to be a bad singer and Harry is not.. Santana and Quinn are supposed to be cheerleader level good, bc they are/were captains of the squad, but Naya and Dianna aren't trained like that at al. or Rachel is supposed to be super good at dancing bc she's been taking lessons since she was a child but Lea is just a basic dancer irl. Amber was so so good in DWTS but i think she participated around s4 right? bc i remember her not being a lot in glee when she did it

btw the dvd of "burlesque" with Christina Aguilera and Cher was in the bag Brittany gave Kurt, and you need to react to that musical omg!!

Schue was so real for that Quinn monologue!! she's so annoying i swear.. i stoped feeling bad for her so long ago and now she's just a character i can't stand anymore

i absolutely HATE the Shelby storyline... she's truly horrible.. first she came back into Rachel's life in s1 and manipulated Jesse to flirt with her, + wanted to destroy a choir filled with a bunch of kids? but now she's coming back to her school?? and creating another club? inside the school where the biological parents of her daughter are?? she's honestly so bad, i hate the storylines that comes in the first part of s3, and they're all mainly bc of her.. she's Rachel biological mom, she's somewhat friends with Schue and she's the mother of Quinn and Puck's child but she thought it was a good idea to come into Mckinley to mess with everyone? i swear i hate this character haha

On another note, Brittany is just the cutest lil bicorn and hers and Kurt’s friendship is absolutely adorable and I’m glad that theirs is one of the few friendship that lasts the whole series.

Me again for another little Quinn analysis - I don't even really think that she's faking. I think that she is just SO lost and is struggling with everything she feels and instead of truly trying to help her through it, people are telling her to grow up. When I was at my low point in high school, if a teacher had said everything to me that Will said to Quinn, I would have completely crumbled. His comment always bothers me because maybe he didn't hear her thank Mercedes for living her, but does he REALLY think she never once would have said it to her and her family? I like that Shelby is the one who is trying to reason with her and understand when the other teachers are just not getting it or are using her. I think Dianna Agron took this material and did an amazing job for what she was given.
ANYWAY, whenever I rewatch, I usually only watch Quinn's scenes because I find this episode incredibly dull, but as always it's fun watching with you.

Ryan Murphy is so toxic. I'm not the biggest fan of Lea and the things she did on set back in the day but Ryan created the environment that allowed that set to be so toxic. Toxicity starts at the top and we have all heard the stories of favoritism, pettiness, and the deliberate patterns of taking serious issues and turning them into jokes for the sake of a laugh or to punish an actor when he was mad at them.

I had heard about Ryan Murphy's disappointment with how much people actually loved Dianna Agron's portrayal of Quinn. Personally, I loved her portrayal and I think that it always makes for a more compelling character if they are layered. I think Dianna did her best with what she was given. I wish they would have given her a chance to play a more layered Quinn and dealt with her grief about giving Beth up in a healthier and more productive way.
As for the drama over Tony, that is definitely a drop in the bucket compared to what is to come. The next episode is one of my favorites of this season. One of Chris Colfer's secret talents was his weapons work with those sais (what Audrey refers to as the knives). It was nice to see them work that into the story.

Dianna didn’t cut her hair on her own, the Hair and Makeup team did on set right before the last episode of season 2 and she wore extensions for the first part of the episode. She posted a video on her Tumblr felldowntherabbithole https://youtu.be/2vC3RLS6glQ and Jenna pops in and you can hear Lea in the background. Ryan Murphy did have some issues with Dianna and how she gave Quinn likable characteristics and vulnerability when he really just wanted her to be the bitchy head cheerleader. This really becomes obvious in this season with her storylines.

The Kurt/Blaine Tony stuff pretty much gets resolved in the next episode but there is some different drama on the horizon for them. Also during The Greatest Star Kurt used sai swords and climbed on stuff because Chris Colfer likes both. He’s

Can't wait for the next episode,x it's so good. Shelby's new club it's going to be amazing g. Audrey, you should watch episode 5x09 before waiting 2 more seasons, just because the plot is so fitting to what you said about auditions. A lot of feuds coming.

Will did have a point about Quinn. She's seventeen at this point, and way too old to be blaming others for her mistakes. Blaming the Glee club was wrong because they did help her. They supported her and allowed her to be one of them even after she bullied all of them. Quinn's problem was that she didn't want to take responsibility and kept chasing her 'perfect' life in the hopes that it would make her feel complete.

Another great watch party. Thank you. Season 3 still isn't my favourite, a lot of the storylines are strange and most of the episodes seem to end too abruptly. But I still like it a lot and I'm definitely in the minority with this opinion. As I am with most of my opinions lol. 🙈 But yeah this was really fun as always. 😊 Also when are you planning another movie watch party? If we don't include the Glee 3D Concert Movie, then the last one you did was June 18th. Over one month ago. And there are still SO many musical movies I'd love to watch along with you. 💕

I don't know if it's just me, but I'm pretty sure Lea's and Idina's vocals are a bit altered in your version of the episode. I tried comparing it to the youtube version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOatO5blnGA&ab_channel=BriannaO%27Brien-Young In your version, their voices sound a little bit like chipmunks. It's really not that big of a deal, but am I crazy? HAHA ! I actually hear it in the other performances as well.

I always found it so funny that the show had these episodes about dance and Mercedes being one of the ones who need dance lessons and then Amber Riley went on DWTS and was absolutely amazing and won her season. Looking forward to the next episode it's one of my favorites.
