Gears of War: Reloaded - HDR Optimized Settings
Added 2025-08-29 13:33:51 +0000 UTC
The game is NOT using/applying Xbox, Playstation or PC HDR Calibration app settings.
This Re-Remastered (yeah) has a fairly good HDR implementation by offering precise in-game HDR controls in nits value.

If you have an LG OLED and:
> you're using Dynamic Tone Mapping or Dynamic Contrast:
Set HDR Brightness (Max nits) slider to: 4.000 (nits)
Set Brightness (Paper White) slider to: 200 (nits)
> you're using HGIG:
Set HDR Brightness (Max nits) slider to: 800 (nits) or 1.000 (for G2/C4) or 1.500 (for G3/G4/C5) or 2.400 (for G5)
Set Brightness (Paper White) slider to: 200 (nits) or 280 (for G3/G4/C5) or 300 (for G5)
If you don't have an LG OLED and:
> you don't have an HGIG option:
Set HDR Brightness (Max nits) slider to: 1.000 (nits)
Set Brightness (Paper White) slider to: 200 (nits)
> you're using HGIG:
Set HDR Brightness (Max nits) slider to the corresponding real Peak HDR Luminance of your TV in "nits"
Set Brightness (Paper White) slider to: 200 (nits) up to 1.000nits or 280 (from 1.000 to 1.500 nits) or 300 (for 2.000 nits and above)
In all cases leave Contrast slider to Default as it already provides a balanced picture, but if you want a "punchier" image, try Contrast 70 (but you may clip some shadow detail in some areas)
BONUS:
On Consoles: use the "120fps Performance" graphic mode for best smoothness and input latency, but only if you have a 120hz display + VRR enabled. Otherwise use the 60fps mode
Comments
Actually not, they're very similar. The only thing is that 120fps won't be stable, they will continuously fluctuate from 80fps to 120fps so VRR is needed.

2025-09-01 19:11:37 +0000 UTCYou can’t set 276 for paper white. It only goes up in values of 10 from 270 to 280.
