Monster Hunter World - HDR Optimized Settings

The game is NOT using/applying Xbox/Playstation HDR Calibration app settings.

The game has a fairly good HDR implementation with an actual Peak HDR Luminance control in numerical values (not in nits) and up to 5.000 nits.

Unfortunately reference images for calibration are not representing what will actually happen in-game when you adjust those values.

If you have an LG OLED and:

> you're using Dynamic Tone Mapping or Dynamic Contrast:

> you're using HGIG:

If you don't have an LG OLED and:

> you don't have an HGIG option:

> you're using HGIG:

Thank you for your quick response P40L0, I will use these settings in the meantime!

Just an update: "Fullscreen" mode is causing issues with HDR. Try using the "Borderless" mode to fix them + enable DTM on the TV.

At a first glance it seems that Peak HDR Luminance is fixed and cannot be adjusted there, so enabling DTM could be the recommended choice for it. I will further look into it and let you know in case something changes

Hi P40L0, I just wanted to say that you have been a godsend to those of us looking for real HDR measurements and your optimized settings posts are extremely useful. Is there any chance that you are going to take a look at Monster Hunter Rise? The PC version got an update for HDR and it looks overly bright on default settings. The settings menu for it is also different from World. Thanks for your work!

John
