Watch Dogs: Legion - HDR Optimized Settings
Added 2022-04-19 07:50:31 +0000 UTC
The game is NOT using/applying Xbox/Playstation HDR Calibration app settings.
The game has a good HDR implementation offering an actual Peak HDR Luminance slider (in nits) up to 4.000 nits along with a Paper White control.

If you have an LG OLED and:
> you're using Dynamic Tone Mapping or Dynamic Contrast:
- Set HDR Peak Brightness slider to: 4.000 (nits; Max);
- Set HDR Paper White slider to: 150 (nits) or 200 (for G3).
> you're using HGIG:
- Set HDR Peak Brightness slider to: 800 (nits) or 1.000 (for G2) or 1.500 (for G3);
- Set HDR Paper White slider to: 200 (nits).
If you don't have an LG OLED and:
> you don't have an HGIG option:
- Set HDR Peak Brightness slider to: 1.000 (nits);
- Set HDR Paper White slider to: 200 (nits).
> you're using HGIG:
- Set HDR Peak Brightness slider to the corresponding real Peak HDR Luminance of your TV in "nits";
- Set HDR Paper White slider to: 200 (nits).

2024-07-11 08:23:43 +0000 UTCAre you using HGIG or DTM? I just tried with HGIG and the pattern you see is wrong: it clips much later than actual in-game peak which is similar to what you put there, so if you use HGIG and put 800 nits should still look good in-game.

2024-07-11 06:34:48 +0000 UTCPaolo, have you had a look at this since 2022? I went to play it recently and noticed that the hdr setup screen was different. The test image was now like a "make the icon barely visible" one. As I have a lg cs oled which I understand to be a c1 with c2 chipset, so around 800 nits however the test image disappeared at 1300 nits. Can you please look at it again? and see if ubisoft broke something.
